$APE Assembly Agenda - Wednesday, July 5, 10:00 AM PST

The Ape Assembly represents some of the most passionate and engaged members of the ApeCoin DAO. In order for this group to remain nimble and effective, it’s important we design a structure in such a way that we can find consensus quickly without sacrificing accountability.

Primary Agenda

  1. Introduction - Assembly Mandate & Scope

  1. Set expectations for how this meeting will operate.
  1. Anyone can raise their hand to speak
  2. Treat one another with respect
  3. No talking over one another
  4. Keep an open mind

  1. Begin $APE Assembly elections/selection conversation.

The $APE Assembly will function as follows:

Meetings

  1. There will be two meetings each month, up to two hours each.
  1. The first meeting will recap the previous month as well as set expectations & goals into the current month.
  1. The Assembly will meet every First and Third Wednesday of each month. The first monthly Wednesday meetings will be at 10:00AM PST, with the second monthly meeting at 6:00PM PST.

Voting

  1. Only the Chairperson, (vice-chairperson) or Stewards can call a vote in the Assembly.

  1. Voting will be open for a minimum of 3 days, and will require a simple majority to pass.
  1. Voting for Working Group Stewards, or highly contentious issues can remain open for as long as 6 days if needed.

  1. Voting will be held either in the ⁠🔒︱assembly-votes channel in Discord, or on snapshot at “apeassembly.eth” with shielded (private) voting.

Expectations

  1. The $APE Assembly has been delegated a very clear and specific responsibility by the DAO, to elect Stewards to other Working Groups. With the Metaverse Working Group approved, we need to decide how to facilitate the elections for this group of people.

  1. Before we empower the Metaverse Working Group, we need to properly establish the $APE Assembly.

Assembly Roles

In order to keep the Assembly on track and empowered with their budget, we will need to appoint individuals to head up this Initiative and be signers on the multisig, registered at “apeassembly.eth”

  1. Chairperson - This would be the primary leadership role. This person would be responsible for setting the agenda, guiding the course of meetings, keeping the Assembly on track, and ensuring that all voices are heard. They are also signers on the multisig, and authors on Snapshot.

  1. Vice-Chairperson - This person would assist the Chairperson and step into their role if the Chairperson were absent. They are also signers on the multisig, and authors on Snapshot.

  1. Treasurer - Responsible for overseeing the finances of the Assembly, acting as a multisig signer and accountant.

  1. Marketing and Communications Lead - Take ownership of the Ape Assembly Twitter and drive engagement towards the Assembly meetings / initiatives.

Voting

Our Vision:

  1. Call for contributors posted on forums for 7 days, asking token holders to apply specifically for one of these three roles

  1. 3 days for discussions in the Discord server “$APE Assembly Forum”

  1. 3 separate Snapshot votes on apeassembly.eth for the 3 separate roles - 3 days voting time

Note: You can apply for all 3 positions. Whoever gets second place in the Chair election will become the Vice-Chair – so two winners there.

Term Lengths

  1. Discuss term options and recommend shorter terms so more people can participate in these roles
  2. Suggest one month, three months, six months

Secondary Agenda

  1. Discuss Thank Ape contribution types for the Assembly. The appointed roles should probably be compensated in some way, either through Thank Ape or the Assembly budget. Additionally, Assembly members who dedicate their time to this initiative should also be recognized and thanked for their work.

  1. Discuss Metaverse Working Group Steward Elections. Get $APE Assembly set up first, but how should we facilitate this election?

  1. Discuss next steps for the Legal Committee, who all is on the committee, and when would you like a call with our legal council?

  1. Voting Reform

  1. Public Goods Committee / Working Group
