Haven of Hope’s Youth Camp Rules

 *All campers and staff are amenable to the Pastor. (amenable means responsible or answerable; to be submissive)

*The rights, privacy and individuality of each other will be respected. Those things that are not conducive to Christian character will not be allowed.

*Campers are covered by a limited policy while at camp. This does not cover any preexisting illness or illness incurred while there. It is strictly an accident policy. This is a secondary policy, it will only pay after your insurance has been filed. Each camper will be required to fill out a medical release form and a permission slip and a camp waiver form.

*COST: Campers 12 and up are $175.00. 11 and under are allowed ONLY with a guardian over 20 years old. The cost for each child under 11 is $100.00 and  0-4 years old is free.

--A deposit of $25 per camper is due by June 1st to reserve each spot. All money is due to be turned in NO LATER than Sunday, July 19th.

--If a camper chooses to arrive late, or leave early from camp there will be no refund. This also applies to anyone sent home for disciplinary reasons.

--The cost of camp covers the campground fees, all meals for campers (11 meals), guest speaker fees, and transportation to and from camp for those that need a ride.

--Those who come for the day (day campers) will be asked to pay $40 for the day.

DEPARTURE DATE: Sunday, July 26th @ 2:30pm. We will meet at Haven of Hope’s parking lot. Bring money or a sack lunch for the ride up to camp, we will be stopping to eat on the way to the camp site.

RETURN DATE: Thursday, July 30th around 3:00pm. Bring money for we will also be eating lunch on the way back. We will arrive at Haven of Hope’s parking lot around 3pm.

*Parents- PLEASE be prompt in picking your child(ren) up.

*Maps will be provided.

MEDICATIONS: If prescribed medicine is necessary for a camper, they must report this to the pastor when turning in the permission slip and money for camp.

*Nobody is permitted to leave the Camp without the permission of the Pastor.

*All campers and staff are to participate in all of the activities (including the camp choir).

*No campers are permitted out of their dorm after lights out @ 11:00pm.

 *Each camper is responsible for taking care of camp equipment, buildings, and grounds. Cleanliness and respect for grounds and property is expected. Cabins will be inspected for cleanliness during morning service.

*Each camper is responsible for his/her own personal items. Haven of Hope or Camp Chinquapin is NOT RESPONSIBLE for lost or stolen items such as money, clothing, cameras, phones, etc. **IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IPHONES, IPADS AND LAPTOPS TO STAY AT HOME. ** Bring those items at your own risk. 

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP: a good, positive attitude, Bible, notebook, blankets/sleeping bag, pillow, towels, wash cloths, toiletry items, flash light, rain coat or sweatshirt, warm and cold clothing. No laundry service is available so bring enough clothing. Limit your luggage to one suitcase and one small duffle bag per camper.

--You may want to bring spending money for there could be a concession stand but it is not mandatory.

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO CAMP: a bad attitude, secular music of any kind, matches, lighters, any form of tobacco, drugs, questionable reading material, and clothing with offensive slogans or pictures.

DRESS CODE: Modest and decent clothing is expected at all times. No skin-tight clothing is allowed. Bare midriffs exposed are NOT permitted. Any camper with questionable clothing can be asked to change at any given time. No tank tops of any kind. No see-through clothing, halter tops, or low-cut shirts will be allowed.

GIRLS: Church attire is casual with dresses/skirts/Jeans recommended for all church services. Skirts must be below the knee length. During the day activities pants, capris are ok.

BOYS: Shorts can be worn during free time. Church attire is casual attire but pants are required for services. No earrings of any kind. Boys are not to remove their shirts during recreational periods or at any other time except in their dorm. These rules apply when coming and going to and from the showers as well.

SWIMMING ATTIRE: For boys and girls will be knee length shorts with solid colored t-shirts. Other dress codes apply to and from the swimming hole. There will be NO mix swimming. This activity time will be scheduled separately for boys and girls.

OFF LIMITS: Boys’ dorms are off limits for the girls and the girls’ dorms are off limits to the boys. It is off limits to go beyond the designated boundaries. You may not be out of your dorm after lights out @ 11:00pm. Curfew will be clearly communicated and anyone “disappearing” will be disciplined.

SOCIAL CONTACT: Youth camp is a great place to make friends. However, this isn’t a lover’s camp. Therefore, NO PHYSICAL CONTACT between the sexes will be permitted. We request that you spend time with the entire group and not isolate yourselves with one or two persons.

CAMP ORIENTATION: We will have a camper’s orientation on Sunday, July 26th in the food hall to go over the scheduled activities, rules and boundaries of camp. These boundaries apply to each camper of all ages.

The camp experience is a retreat from the fast pace of everyday life. The focus is on spiritual matters. Campers are expected to help foster a wholesome spiritual atmosphere.
