Divestment Proposal TLDR
This proposal must be voted on by the student body prior to its formal presentation to the Board of Trustees. In order for this to happen, the Temple Student Government must allow it to be entered as a ballot question in upcoming student elections.
- Add a Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) clause to the Ethics & Compliance Charter to be adhered to by the Finance and Investment Committee.

- Create an independent oversight committee to monitor the Finance and Investment Committee’s SRI implementation.
- 8 total members, CCO (Chief Compliance Officer), 2 ECO (Ethics & Compliance Office) officers, and 5 elected student-senators
- To attend each meeting of the Finance and Investment Committee
- Publicly disclose all private investments
- Current private asset investments held between 2016 and 2026
- Non-current assets approved between 2016 and 2016
- ‘Deposit’s with trustee’ approved between 2016 and 2026
- Divest from any investments currently in violation of SRI
- Companies which economically support genocide
- Weapons/tech companies who assist genocide
- Weapons/ tech companies who assist DHS/ICE
- Any company complicit in human rights abuses.
- Property/Development Companies who assist genocide, DHS/ICE, or private prisons
- Students running the Owlfund must adhere to clauses 1.a-1.d, as well as 4.a-4.d.
- Dissolution of Collaborations
- Cease any professional collaboration with weapons/tech companies who assist genocide
- Cease any professional collaboration with weapons/tech companies who assist DHS/ICE
- Cease any professional collaboration with weapons/tech companies who are complicit in human rights abuses
