Note: while the only direct allegations or “receipts” (evidence like screenshots of conversations with Nick) from victims themselves are fairly limited, the more important concern is how it was more publicly revealed that there was an open secret in the gaming industry that Nick Robinson was frequently creepy toward women and did many forms of sexual harassment. Many of the initial allegations were behind locked accounts on Twitter or have since been deleted. A lot of the victims themselves did not want to publicly come out against Nick for lots of different and complicated reasons, including the fear of some sort of repercussion. As you can see below, there were MANY allegations of sexual harassment, abuse, and being creepy toward women from respected, widely known public figures including but not limited to Hbomberguy, Austin Walker, Danika Harrod and MORE along side the allegations from the victims themselves.

Allegations:

UPDATE (6/19/24):
A while ago I (LunaElise 25) received a DM on Reddit from someone (they asked to stay anonymous) who had negative experiences with Nick and have been in contact with them for a bit. Today they asked me to publicly share their story here:

-people need to understand that most people don't have a lot of proof of him being a pest because of him moving to Snapchat while the conversations with him have been friendly and pleasant, and then being in a position where you really can't screenshot things or even save specific conversation details - ESPECIALLY shortly before he got outed for being an absolute creep. He knew exactly what he was doing. He'd say "hey, I'd prefer to use my Twitter DMs for professional stuff, can we move to Snapchat?" and then that's where things would get weird. It makes it seem like everything is hearsay and that's on purpose.

-My experiences with Nick weren't special, they were completely in line with every other person he talked to. He did a really good job of leveraging that "sex positive feminist man" persona that was really common among sex pests back then, so most screenshots that people do have reflect that positive, love-bomb heavy interaction. It's why every message shared around seems like average mid-2010s parasocial internet celebrity conversations, because things didn't start setting off red flags until you were in a position where screenshotting conversations sent a notification - and most of the time people were just excited to get this kind of attention that Nick was small enough to be able to give, but big enough in the subcultures he was a part of to be able to leverage. And I can't blame anyone for being into it! This was the mid-2010s and sex positivity was a big thing! So many people were finally feeling empowered with their sexuality and people like Nick took such heavy advantage of it. Cue up that BoJack Horseman quote about being unable to see red flags when you're wearing rose colored glasses.

Aurahack (professional illustrator and designer):

  • “he knowingly and arrogantly sexually harassed people for YEARS”

Austin Walker (Host of @Friends_Table , Producer @More_Civilized | Formerly @Waypoint , @GiantBomb , @PasteGames):

  • “It’s not a thing we’re writing about right now partially because there’s a degree of conflict of interest. There’s a degree of as Rob [Zacny] mentioned, it seemed like certain people knew some things. I can say openly I’ve known some shit about Nick Robinson for a while now. I had knowledge of, oh hey he’s done some creepy shit, but the people who I’ve spoken to who have been involved in that have not wanted me or other people to be public about that information for lots of complicated reasons, which you have to honor that request when it happens.”
  • Quote starts at 47:27 in podcast linked in this article https://www.vice.com/en/article/43xkmb/we-discuss-nick-robinson-harassment-and-power-dynamics-on-waypoint-radio

Danika Harrod (community @tableau | marketing @pugonline | host @deathbyonline | Former: Host of Waypoint Radio):

  • “As someone who’s witnessed the absolute pain nick robinson has caused others, his message is disappointing, sure, but it’s not surprising. This is a person who has been doing this for years”
  • “there are much, much better people you can give your youtube views, attention and money to than nick robinson. devs and pubs - there are much, much better content creators/writers who can spread the word about your games than nick robinson.”

“i was close to him at one point. i remain close to many people he hurt. the fact that anyone continues to give him anything that would benefit him blows my mind.”

LooityLoo (Twitch streamer):

  • As someone who’s known him for ~15 years now: THANK YOU for this [response to Danika’s tweets]. I’ve seen him attempting to resurface lately and seeing this post gave me hope that people weren’t just going to forget and move on. Hold people accountable for their fucking actions.

Samm Neiland (Friend of Nick and moderator of his Twitch channel):

  • “But… it was like Austin [Walker] said in today’s episode [Waypoint Radio], there were certain things I’ve known in taking to mutual friends/acquaintances that we’d kept on the down low about out of respect of their wishes. And part of was hoping they were isolated instances but as we got closer to now, it was becoming more clear something was very wrong and this was a problem.”

Hbomberguy (YouTuber/Video Essayist/Twitch streamer):

  • “I knew some stories but they weren’t my stories to tell. I’ve just sort of quietly avoided interacting with him and waited for people to come forward on their own about it. You can’t come forward with someone else’s story if they clearly didn’t want it out there.

All I would like to personally say on this is, you will notice this retroactively explains the context between so many gaming writers passive-aggressively subtweeting his comment about jacking it to Krystal. To an outsider it looked like people over-reacting to a silly comment.

But in reality a lot of people, who knew, but clearly thought better than to be the first one to say anything specific, really weren’t taking ‘everyone is sexual in the exact way as me’ jokes from someone who behaves like that. It was a collective “we aren’t like you, Nick”, but not everyone knew what he was like.”

Ali Acampora (Producer and host of podcasts such as “Friends at the Table” and “A More Civilized Age: A Star Wars Podcast”):

  • Spoke out against Nick, heavily suggesting the allegations toward Nick were an open secret in the gaming industry

Gita Jackson (Gaming Journalist and Critic - Cofounder of Aftermath - Formerly worked at Motherboard and Kotaku):

  • Spoke out about the situation involving Robinson in a similar way to Ali Acampora
  • When someone preys on you sexually or manipulates you, or misrepresents situations to gain your consent, it's hard not to blame yourself. This has happened to me more than I'd like to admit, and each time I return to the refrain "I should have known better."

Abby Russell (Currently Marketing @jackboxgames | Formerly @GiantBomb (where Nick Robinson started his career and interned) @G4TV @MagnetTheater | #Gas:

  • “I'm truly upset about this manipulative "apology." He is downplaying his abuse as misguided flirting and using ignorance as an excuse.”

SouIspear (fan of Nick that he met on Twitter):

  • Claimed Robinson solicited suggestive/nsfw selfies from her while he was 26 and she had been 18 for just half a year
  • Claimed Robinson did not want her telling anyone about their relationship
  • Robinson repeatedly turned shifted innocent conversations with her to being sexual
  • More tweets from her about her experience with Nick

Elia Cat (former friend of Nick):

  • Claimed Robinson “made [them - Elia Cat who goes by they/them pronouns] uncomfortable and hurt and anxious” and that he “treats women as sex objects.”

Reddit user Freefreefree123/freefreefree1233:

  • Claimed Robinson “nearly raped a drunk girl at Fanimecon and told her to shut the fuck up about it afterwards”
  • Claimed she heard the story from “4 separate sources that are EXTREMELY close to Nick”
  • Claimed that they (Freefreefree1233) were an acquaintance of Nick that lived in the area and had many colleagues that had stories about him harassing women.
  • “due to these tight communities within the gaming industry, I've heard multiple stories regarding his predatory tendencies from good friends and associates of mine”
  • Claimed Nick would use intimidation to silence victims
  • “I was advised by my employer to not make personal remarks regarding someone from another outlet, regardless of previous relationships. That and Nick knows my address, phone number, and lives 3 bus stops away and I've heard of him contacting people to stay quiet, just like he did with his victims.”

Reddit user number-47:

  • “I know some extra shit I can't reveal publicly, but what I can say is that as someone who attends California cons he's a name spoken in whisper circles, and that beyond the whole flirting and extorting sex from minor and barely-legal fans he was also known to be in the DMs of a shit ton of women in the games industry. Dude's a creep and a predator. This is not a hill worth dying on.”
  • “Some of the people he was dming and soliciting sex from were minors, at least one of whom I know. Unfortunately, most of the details are not available publicly and only through hearsay, which makes warning skeptical people difficult.”
  • “For me, it's because they come from trusted sources and people I know who have also known him” - response to “what makes you inclined to believe [the details/allegations]

Secondhand accounts of Nick being creepy/predatory toward underage women:

  • “He also creeped on my friend, when that friend was underage, fully aware of that fact”
  • Eliacat claimed that a minor was contacting Vox about sexual harassment by Nick

Recent developments to suggest that his character hasn’t changed for the better since the original allegations:

  • His apology in the aftermath of the allegations coming out was widely criticized:
  • Nick never publicly addressed any of the allegations or his bad behavior after his initial apology
  • He has been accused of creating alts on Twitter to argue against people bringing up his sexual harassment allegations
  • This particular account (@thon_______) claims to have done a stream to prove they aren’t Nick. However, we have no evidence of the stream having happened, and what happened during the supposed stream referred to. The stream and Liam blocking “thon” is not definitive proof of the account not being Nick’s alt, nor is “thon” defending Nick very shortly after their (thon’s) account was created definitive proof of them being Nick’s alt.
  • Posted a YouTube video on Jan 1, 2024 (which now has 1.1 million views) that has several unethical elements to it
  • The video showed footage from 2021 of him tracking down a lost GameBoy Advance that he had bought for his “girlfriend” Samantha. He doesn’t mention the fact that Samantha and him aren’t together anymore until the last 5 minutes of the video, which feels very intentionally misleading. Also gives off a pretty weird vibe to be posting 3 year old footage of your ex-girlfriend, who you haven’t been with for years now, and presenting it as if she is your present day girlfriend until the epilogue of an hour long video.
  • Samantha said she did not consent to being in the video, she asked him to take it down, and he did not comply.
  • Nick lied about her giving consent to appear in the video. His words from the epilogue:

“So while me and Samantha haven’t been together for years, honestly, we agreed that this is a really beautiful story - worth telling - and I’m super grateful that she gave me the thumbs-up to release this video anyway”

  • Nick put an AirTag that he was in control of inside the case of the GBA he gave her. The video does not show whether or not Samantha consented to her device being tracked with an AirTag. The video never shows Samantha viewing the location of the AirTag, and only shows Nick accessing it.
  • Nick jumps over a random stranger’s fence and enters the garage in their backyard to try to retrieve the lost GBA without their consent AND posts it for millions to see.
