Welcome to CCC Academy’s Leash Training!! Leash training is so important when owning a dog. It can be very unsafe for you, your dog and others around you if you have no control over your dog while on leash. On top of that, leashes are strongly encouraged. Having your dog off leash in public is completely unacceptable, for so many reasons. Even if your dog is the most well behaved, trained dog, you can never predict what other dogs may be like; or that one day there could be that one sound or scent that just sets your dog off. You cannot predict it, and it can be extremely terrifying when dogs break into fights. Fights can end in serious to fatal injuries between dogs and/or a person as well if they try to interfere without proper knowledge and having experience. While I qualify to split up fights because I have experience/techniques learned over the years of witnessing it from past work experiences, it is not something that I ever want to do, it is not a situation that I ever want to be put in for myself or the dogs involved. A dog that pulls or acts erratic on leash, may trigger other dogs around them that can lead to a fight. Therefore, leash training is SO important. Walks should be enjoyable for everyone involved.
This type of training requires 110% commitment 24/7. If you take your pooch out to go potty, or down to the mailbox, or quickly to the car, you still have to practice training! If you want your dog to never pull, they can never be allowed to pull. I also can always tell when a dog is not practicing “no pulling”/ “heel” because the dog will prove it during sessions.
By signing here, you are promising to commit to training your dog outside of the sessions that your dog is receiving while with CCC; and if you are not doing so, and there is no improvement due to lack of commitment on your end, CCC has the right to end training sessions with your dog as training is meant to be positive and rewarding!
