A Whole Lot of Changes

Recently there’s been a lot of changes with redemption services on the JP side.

Buyee no longer accepts Takara-Tomy Gacha items which sucks but we move on.

As of right now Tenso or Blackship + TTMall is the method for redeeming beys FROM JAPAN.

NOTHING ELSE WORKS

As well ThePortal0 is no longer recommended for redemption for the Taiwan (TW) region until further notice! The only region with guaranteed redemption is Japan.

If anything changes I’ll update the guide and continue to note down changes here.

Android Sign-up Tutorial

Alright grab yourself a VPN. Tunnelbear can work: https://www.tunnelbear.com/. Imo I wouldn't keep it after just use it to setup the account then uninstall it.

Def recommend this one for keeping a VPN but it'll cost $5 for a month's use. https://mullvad.net/en

Creating the Google Account to get the App

  • VPN
  • Open a private browser/incognito window so that there is nothing logged in and no cookies
  • Make the google account
  • For extra measure go into the settings https://myaccount.google.com/
  • Go to personal info and scroll down
  • Set your address to somewhere in Japan. Like Tokyo or somethin

Setting up the Account on the app

  • On bootup after touching the screen first thing it'll ask is where you want the account to be
  • JP for Japan codes. Anything from Amazon Japan, Suruga-ya, Buyee, Mercari JP, etc
  • TW FOR ALL NON-JP CODES ANYTHING WITH AN A: This is so you actually have a proxy/way to redeem these that proxy being ThePortal0 more on that later. This applies to beys bought from shops based in the West like: Beyblade Premier, BeysandBricks, MallofToys, etc.
  • If you have a proxy personally elsewhere sign up wherever
  • Screenshot your account details!!!!
  • Scan code
  • You're in the app

How to Swap Region Accounts

  • For the first account you're on make sure you saved its details. This can be done in the settings or later in the process
  • Restart the app by closing it and opening it again
  • At the main screen touch the top right option. The top option of the two there.
  • This will open up a sign on menu. First option is confirming signing in with another account. Second is closing the pop up
  • Once the second account is made and you enter its details here hit the top option that is a confirm
  • This will then pop up three other options. First is a confirm to swap the accounts. Second is to see the account details of the account you're signing out of. One is a close option
  • Choose the RED second option if for whatever reason you haven't saved your account info yet. It’ll display it
  • Now choose the confirm on the top
  • The app will now force close itself. You'll need to open it again
  • YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY SWAPPED ACCOUNTS REPEAT THIS AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT

How to Read the App

  • Get Google Translate on your phone. Take screenshots of things you need translated. Go to the translate app > Camera > Screenshots on the bottom right. Then choose the screenshot, set the language to Auto -> English. Done! Repeat!

 Creating a (new) Apple Account

This is to access the Japanese App Store

There's many ways to make a new account but for the purposes of this guide, I'll use the desktop website.  

NOTE: You don't NEED a VPN for this (which is why iOS is superior (cap))

1. Go to [Apple Sign Up](https://appleid.apple.com/account) to make a new account and follow as normal.

     Make sure to select your region to Japan!!!

    * You can still use a US phone number to sign up.

2. After doing a CAPTCHA and verifying email and phone number, your account should be made.

3. On your iOS device, go to Settings -> your account -> Media and Purchases -> sign out. This is so it only switches to your new account for App Store and not your entire phone/device.

    * Alternatively, go to App Store -> tap your account icon -> scroll down to Sign Out. Then log in to your new account from there.

4. Attempt to install a free app (or just go straight to looking up "BEYBLADE X" and downloading that.) This will prompt a message saying that your account "has not yet been used in the iTunes store." Tap Review.

5. Make sure your account is still Japan. Tap Next.

6. Fill in your info:

    * Payment Method: Keep it as "None."    

    * Phonetic Name: This field is for your name but pronounced in カナ. If you're Japanese-illiterate, use this [site](https://www.sljfaq.org/cgi/e2k.cgi)

       * (Or use any English to Katakana converter site)

    * Address: This part matters the least because you can just type in whatever bullshit and Apple will never check or send anything there lol. Still recommend nicking off a random McDonalds or Starbucks off Shibuya or something.

7. You should now be able to install the Beyblade X app.

Tenso Sign Up Guide

Tenso is a package forwarder in Japan. They collect packages for you in Japan that normally wouldn’t be able to be internationally shipped and ships them for you.

This is required for the JP Redemption of Beys: Cobalt Drake, Aero Pegasus and others of their rarity in the future

  • Go to https://www.tenso.com/
  • Choose English from the right side
  • Choose Sign Up
  • Enter the details as needed. Yes this will required personal info and ID verification later. This is essentially a Japanese PO box for various goods
  • Once you're signed up you'll need to go through the ID verification as mentioned
  • Once all that is wrapped up you'll need to wait a day or two. You'll receive an email letting you know your account has been approved Now you can move on to the next step

As well you will need a Amazon JP account to use Amazon Pay during checkout while on Takara-Tomy Mall

This is required for the JP Redemption of Beys: Cobalt Drake, Aero Pegasus and others of their rarity in the future. ThePortal0 - Ordering Guide and Details

For claiming beys from the Taiwan (TW) region

WE NO LONGER RECOMMEND REDEEMING BEYS FROM TP0. THIS DOES MEAN THERE’S NO OTHER OPTIONS FOR TW. IF YOU DO CHOOSE TO REDEEM WITH THEM YOU DO SO WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE REDEMPTION PROCESS CAN BECOME MESSED UP AND YOU’LL NEED TO RESOLVE EVERYTHING WITH THEM

Biggest thing to note from ThePortal0 rep themselves is "Message us first"

Here's how my process went start to finish

Part 1:

  • Message ThePortal0 on Facebook (instagram works too this is just my experience)
  • Someone will get on the line and be ready
  • Personally I confirmed some details first but at this point you can just order
  • Once order is complete let them know the order #/number
  • They'll say they see it or something similar
  • Give them your bey codes at this time
  • They will let you know the cost of the codes to redeem
  • This is now when you want to give them the email of a PAYPAL linked email address that way you receive a bill for the redeeming of the beys
  • This will be Portal0 but the email address will say merkleboy@gmail.com. This is them don't worry
  • Once you've completed that you have done all you needed for now
  • Ordering complete

FB Messaging tip: They have autoreply set on for the first message they receive from you after X hours. I highly recommend messaging again after the auto reply so they actually see the message and respond

Part 2:

  • Alright so after ordering you'll be waiting a good bit
  • Keep up with the people during this time
  • Eventually you'll get a proper tracking number
  • This will be a Taiwan tracking number and you'll need to track it here: https://postserv.post.gov.tw/pstmail/main_mail.html
  • Choose the International tracking service. Second option under the green bar
  • Fill out the top with your tracking number fill in the 4 num captcha and then click confirm orange button
  • You'll see your tracking details here
  • You'll be waiting until it says it's arrived in your country
  • From here it's entirely on your own country and how they go about shipping to you. You more than likely aren't getting a tracking number.
  • For the US I didn't receive a tracking number and it was delivered via USPS. It came 2 business days after it reached the US on the weekend

NO LONGER WORKING

Guides under this heading don’t need to be used anymore for the purposes of Rare Bey redemption. They’re here to keep for anyone still wanting to use them for various other purposes.

Buyee Shipping Method and Sign-up

This method is now THE way to redeem any and all rare beys/others including Aero Pegasus!

I fully recommend Buyee as the choice for any and all Bey redemption. It’s extremely easy to do. Buyee is another forwarder like Tenso but also has direct access to shops built into the website so go exploring.

Guide Start

  • First Register a Buyee account
  • Now use this link to request: https://media.buyee.jp/guide/othershopping/en/
  • Should be filled out like the image here: https://i.imgur.com/ZIFnvbq.png
  • Confirm the item
  • Once you've done that you'll have an order request in your account.
  • Buyee will then check the item and confirm its price and all.
  • Buyee will then give you notification of this and you'll need to pay for the order
  • Once this is done the order will be fulfilled whenever TT says it would be on the listing. Ex: September currently for Black HC
  • Once it's time for the beys to ship it'll be sent to the warehouse where you'll reach the shipping step
  • Shipping will look like below. Prices will vary
  • Once it gets to the warehouse you'll have a number of different shipping options to choose from that vary in price. Registered Small Air mail is the cheapest you should go with. If you want it fast choose EMS or FedEX

Additional Notes

  • If you want to check on the status of your request go to the arrow. If it's still a request it will be under cart. If it's an order it'll now be under the orders
  • Do not hit the confirm on the proxy request unless you really want to and you've confirmed the code is in the notes section

Neokyo Guide - USE THIS FOR RARE BEYS

Works exactly like Buyee. They even come with a guide already: https://neokyo.com/en/how-to-buy 

Go to your Dashbord via clicking My Account and then Dashboard

To your left under the large Dashboard will be a Buy Request button. Click that to get to the form.

Next you’ll see the place to put a link. This will also have a tutorial linked which actually goes over how to do this in detail already: https://neokyo.com/en/how-to-buy . Given this I’ll keep it short and specific

Below is after entering the URL. You’ll then put in extra details.
Main thing is putting the code for the Bey/Item into the Item Option (Optional) field.

After this you’ll then be able to pay for the order. If you have different items you’ll need to do this for however many different ones you have.

You’ll then get order updates until it arrives at the warehouse. Once there you can pay for shipping to you for the order and consolidate packages

NEOKYO SHIPPING TIMEFRAME - ORDER TO RECEIVING - Pugyun

February 13th

  • Sent Aero Pegasus order request (¥1 for aero + ¥250 for commission fee)
  • Within 30 mins it was accepted and I paid the ¥251.
  • Within 1 hour, I was prompted to pay ¥350 for TT mall (local) shipping
  • Estimated March 30th for Aero arrival at Neokyo Warehouse (45 day estimate)

February 25th

  • Aero Pegasus arrived at the Neokyo warehouse (12 days transit, 4 weekends, 8 business days)
  • I had to pick a "packing configuration" between "optimize my shipping costs" and "optimize for Japan post small package" I selected to optimize my shipping costs and waited.

February 26th

  • I was prompted to pick my shipping service. I selected EMS and paid ¥3285.

March 3rd

  • Aero Pegasus shipped.

March 4th

  • Aero Pegasus left Japan.

March 10th

  • it arrived 🐶

Total time not including shipping service

  • 20 days (February 13th to March 3rd - 14 business days and 6 weekends)

Total time spent from ordering to receiving package

  • 27 days (February 13th to March 10th - 19 business days and 8 weekends)

Total amount spent in ¥

  • ¥3,886 (¥1 Aero Pegasus + ¥250 Neokyo Commission Fee + ¥350 TT Mall Shipping + ¥3285 EMS Shipping)

Zenmarket Guide

Another Japan forwarder like Tenso and Buyee. This one has aspects of both. Being a plain forwarder but also a place with direct marketplaces attached to the site making it easier to get items from shops as all the work is done for you. Just pay and have it shipped to them to the have it forwarded. Different from them in that you need to load funds into the account to pay for things rather than directly. These can be taken out from what I’ve heard if the need arises.
