BEFORE YOU START:

This tutorial is only FOR PRIVATE USE. Please do not upload the changed physics for one of the cars on any plattform. Only use it for your private driving sessions. I respect the work that Race Sim Studio put into their mods and I don´t want to get any trouble for this little tutorial. Please keep this in your mind. Also keep in mind that my english in this tutorial is not the best. If you have some trouble following my steps or just have some questions feel free to contact me on my youtube channel or my Facebook page.

Step 1:

Open up your Content Manager. Then click on „About“ at the top bar of the programm. Your screen should look like this then:

Now we are gonna activate the developer mode. To do so we have to click a few times on the version number (don´t ask me how much clicks I did). After a few clicks you should get this message on your screen:

Of course we have to click on „Yes“ to activate the developer mode. Now step 1 is done.

Step 2:

Now it´s time to load up the Formula Hybrid 2021 mod in content manager. Your screen should look like this:

On the top of the programm you can see a button „unpack data“. Click on this button to unpack the data.acd file. This is the file for the physics of this mod. After you click on this button a new window will appear with the unpacked data folder. Do not close this window. You will need it later!

Step 3:

After we unpacked the data.acd file of the Formula Hybrid 2021 we need to unpack the data.acd of one of the SimDreams cars. The procedure is the same as in step 2. Another window with the unpacked data.acd of the SimDream car will appear. In my tutorial I choosed the McLaren. Your screen should look like this:

Step 4:

To get a better overview of the two new opened windows I recommend to put these windows side by side like I did here:

On the left window I´ve opened up the data folder of the SimDream McLaren. Right side shows the Formula Hybrid folder.

Step 5:

Now we need to copy the files of the Formula Hybrid 2021 data folder over to the SimDreams Mclaren data folder. CAUTION: you can over all files EXEPT following ones:

  • blurred objects.ini
  • cameras.ini
  • car.ini
  • colliders.ini
  • damage.ini
  • dash_cam.ini
  • digital_instruments.ini
  • driver3d.ini
  • lights.ini
  • lods.ini
  • mirrors.ini
  • proview_nodes.ini
  • suspension.ini
  • wing_animations.ini

You may wonder why you are not allowed to copy these files. Well the lods.ini for example tells the game which model.kn5 it has to load up when you want to drive the car. When we are changing it to the Formula Hybrid the game is looking for that model and it won´t work because it can´t find it in the SimDream Mclaren folder.

Without these files you should have 101 objects ready to get copied. My screen now looks like following:

Now just copy these files in the data folder you can see on the left side of my screen.

Step 6 (additional, not necessary):

Now that we have copied over the physics files of the RSS Formula Hybrid mod there are some files in the SimDream Mclaren data folder we don´t need anymore. You can remove them if you like but it should also work without removing them. The files you can remove are the following ones:

  • all _cm_tyre_xxx.lut files
  • ctrl_ers_6.ini
  • ctrl_single_lock
  • difflock_brake_mult.lut
  • difflock_gear_mult.lut
  • evotek_tires.lut
  • fin_AOA_CD.lut
  • fin_AOA_CL.lut
  • height_diffuser_CD.lut
  • height_diffuser_CL.lut
  • height_diffuser_rear_CD.lut
  • height_diffuser_rear_CL.lut
  • height_frontwing_CD.lut
  • height_frontwing_CL.lut
  • modern_F1.lut
  • modern_F1_front.lut
  • modern_gtslicks_tyres.lut
  • modern_street_tyres.lut
  • files from slicks-hard_front.lut to slicksy-soft_rear.lut (12 in total)
  • files from tct_diff.lut to tcurveu-soft.lut (6 in total)
  • files from wing_body_AOA_CD.lut to wing_rear2_AOA_CL.lut (18 in total)

Step 7:

To make the Mclaren work ingame we have to inside the suspensions.ini which is located inside the data folder of the Mclaren. Make sure to copy the wheelbase lengh out of this file. It should look like this:

Now copy the suspensions.ini of the RSS Formula Hybrid mod over to the data folder of the McLaren. When done so copy the wheelbase lengh into the new suspenions.ini file. It should look like this then:

Step 8:

The second last step is to copy some lines of the car.ini file over to the SimDream car. Open up the car.ini oft he Formula Hybrid mod and copy these lines:

Then go inside the car.ini of the McLaren and repleace the lines inside this file. In addition you can also change the FFMULT to 0.95 and the the STEER_ASSIST to 0.8. Save your changes and close the car.ini.

Step 9:

To fix the 24/7 opened DRS you will need to open the file wing_animations.ini. In this file you will have a line which is called „WING“. In your file there should be a 7. Change the 7 to the number 10 (as you can see on the photo below). Make sure to also change the number oft he HALO animation to 11.

The DRS and the HALO animation should now be closed and only opened when you activate it in the DRS zone.

Step 10:

Copy the flames folder (you can find it in rss_formula_hybrid_2021/texture) to the SimDream car/texture folder.

Step 11:

To make the tyre switch in the setup menu working download the files from this link:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/mb1ds0kl2o4cqem/Tyres+SimDream+F1+2021.rar/file

Put them into the car folder of the car you want to change the physics of. This way you can switch the tyres in the setup menu again.

Step 12:

Remove the data.acd inside the gp_2021_mcl35m folder. You can see the file on my screen here:

Now we have finished and you are ready to go!
