Mewlax’s Professor Oak Challenge Guide
Pokemon Legends: Arceus
So you’ve decided to start a Professor Oak Challenge (POC) on Pokemon Legends: Arceus? That’s great, but there’s a few things to consider before embarking on it. Due to your interpretation of the rules of a POC, this drastically changes the way you play the game so you need to choose a difficulty. A Professor Oak Challenge’s rules usually state to complete the pokedex as much as possible before each badge OR to catch all pokemon available. In this case we are looking at quelling the lords across Hisui as the ‘wall’ of each section. But what’s your interpretation of the POC rules? What kind of journey do you want? Difficulty | Interpretation of POC Rules | Description
“Catch every pokemon available in each section. That’s all I need to do for a POC” | An absolutely viable choice if you don’t have much time to spend and just want to catch all pokemon. With the exception of the first section, this is very straightforward.
“If we’re completing the pokedex before each noble then I should get each pokedex entry to Research Level 10 for that nice pokeball icon” | The recommended choice. Completing Level 10 dex entries will require some work but it’s not overly difficult and provides a smooth experience
“POC rules are to complete the pokedex as much as possible. I want to complete every available research task before each noble and go for that shiny pokeball icon” | Only for dedicated or insane people. You will need to max out every single dex entry. If it’s possible to do, you do it. There will be a LOT of catching, battling, evolving and road blocks on this difficult journey. Be warned! |
