• Membership Drive Update: 74 Active Members! (Goal: 120 Members). Join by Sept. 30th to receive a free THES spirit wear lanyard.
• Grounds & Campus Thanks: Gratitude to families, students, staff,  and Uthman Adediran for storm cleanup, weeding, and playground repairs before school started.
• Volunteer Thanks: Appreciation to Emily Freter for organizing the August/September PTA Boards and Display Cases.
• Past Events: Thank you for attending the Blacktop Bash & Ice Cream Social (Aug 19) and to staff for ice pop distribution at Open House (Aug 21)!
• Community Outreach: PTA Table at Oakland Mills Fall Festival — Saturday, Oct. 3 (11 AM – 4 PM, Children's Section).

• PTA Holiday Market: Saturday, Nov. 21 (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM) | Vendor Registration opens Saturday, Sept. 12.
• Winter Fundraiser Pastry Sale (Butter Braid): Feb. 12 – Feb. 26 (Big Sky Fundraising).

Restaurant Nights Out Fundraisers

Afterschool Programs Committee (Chair: Amy Sonntag): KidzArt, iCode, Drama Program (Lion King Jr.), Chess Wizards, Girls on the Run (information coming soon), HoCo Recs & Parks (PTA Website Afterschool Programs).

5th Grade Committee (Chair: Erin Adediran): Committee Members - Geneveive Bonan and Emi Henley - Signs, Shirts, Simulated Congressional Hearing (SCH), Picnic, Promotion, and Battle of the Books.

Grants & Awards Committee (Chair: Sarah Murray): YEP Grant & Oakland Mills Community Grant and exploring other opportunities.

Hospitality Committee (Chair Needed): Staff appreciation lunches, conference dinners, and treat days throughout the year.

Cultural Arts Committee (Chair Needed): Assemblies and International Night (April 23, 6–8 PM).

Communication & Membership Committee (Chair Needed): 

• Outreach strategy to reach our 120-member goal.
• Volunteers are needed each month to help update the marquee outside of the school and the glass display cases in the front foyer of the school. The PTA has many items from each month saved from the previous year. The Media Specialist (Ms. January) supports the PTA with books for the glass displays.  Please use the sign-up to volunteer.
• A volunteer form will be shared in the next few weeks about volunteering to support teachers and staff. Please be on the lookout.

Beautification Committee (Chair Needed): Grounds maintenance, buddy bench, picnic tables, and bench installations.
