Welcome/Announcements
Administrative Update
- Funding & Transparency
- Discussed Title I funding constraints, especially due to recent Indiana legislation and reduced state funding.
- Schools are receiving less Title money than in prior years, impacting staffing and resources.
- Budget planning typically happens Jan–Feb with HR and Finance.
- There was strong interest from parents/community in greater transparency on how Title funds are allocated (e.g., staffing, supplies, technology).
- Agreed that a simple summary (possibly a slide or report) of how funds are used could be shared.
- Examples shared of current Title-funded uses:
- Supplemental teacher providing ELA small‑group interventions.
- Classroom supplies and advance purchasing (e.g., Friday folders, school supplies).
- Alyssa mentioned that if there is a particular or acute need that can be solved with a small amount of funds, PTSA funding could be available
