  1. Create and share a Title funding usage summary (pending district input).
  2. Finalize and distribute Teacher Appreciation Week plan + SignUpGenius.
  3. Confirm DJ booking and timing for Party in the Park.
  4. Develop class basket template for teachers.
  5.  Decide PTSA contribution level for IPS Senior sponsorship.

Welcome/Announcements


Administrative Update

  1. Funding & Transparency
  1. Discussed Title I funding constraints, especially due to recent Indiana legislation and reduced state funding.
  2. Schools are receiving less Title money than in prior years, impacting staffing and resources.
  3. Budget planning typically happens Jan–Feb with HR and Finance.
  4. There was strong interest from parents/community in greater transparency on how Title funds are allocated (e.g., staffing, supplies, technology).
  5. Agreed that a simple summary (possibly a slide or report) of how funds are used could be shared.
  6. Examples shared of current Title-funded uses:
  1. Supplemental teacher providing ELA small‑group interventions.
  2. Classroom supplies and advance purchasing (e.g., Friday folders, school supplies).
  1. Alyssa mentioned that if there is a particular or acute need that can be solved with a small amount of funds, PTSA funding could be available

Fundraising

  1. Received $74 from Dine to Donate
  1. Clustertruck is this week - school gets 20% back on sales
  2. Spring Flower Sale will be in Principal’s Update - already have 4 buyers and $98 in profit from this initiative


Events/Activities

  1. Bring your special person dance went really well last week
  1. Working to refresh items/decorations for this event for next year
  1. Teacher Appreciation Week (Starts May 4)
  1. Budget discussion: ~$700–$1,000 anticipated for staff lunch; additional costs offset by parent donations.
  2. Decided to use a Star Wars theme (May the 4th).
  3. Popular ideas discussed:
  1. Catered lunch (Chipotle/taco bar style).
  2. Coffee and donuts.
  3. Theme days for students.
  4. Notes/cards from students.
  5. Possible staff-wide lunch with coverage to allow teachers time together.
  1. A SignUpGenius will be created for volunteers and donations.
  2. Noted the importance of minimizing classroom disruption during treats.
  1. Party in the Park:
  1. Will proceed with raffle-style class baskets (instead of silent auction).
  2. No bounce houses or inflatables allowed due to IPS rules.
  3. DJ to be booked; tentative date discussed as May 15 (school-led event).
  4.  Plan to create a basket theme template (likely via Canva) for consistency.

  1. Discussed participating in “Adopt/Sponsor an IPS Senior”, supporting seniors transitioning to college, trade school, or workforce.
  2. PTSA likely to contribute financially and share the program with the community.
