T1 Honing Is Very Straight Forward

Because T1 Mats Are Cheaper

For T1 Armor To +15:

        No Need To Use Any Stars Breath For 1.5%

        Even For 14 To 15 It Is Cheaper To Just Luck It!

                Cost If Failing Is Very Low!

For T1 Weapon To +15

        Consider Using Stars Breath For 13->14 & 14->15

        Also Consider The 10% Purple Metallugry

**Stars Breath Bonus Rate Goes To 1% At 14->15

        Instead Of 1.5% Before That

        Making Metallugry More Effect For Its 10% Bonus Rate!

Each +1 Level Of ANY Gear Gives The Same Value

So A +16 Armor = We Just Need +14 On Weapon

        This Is Most Costly With Recent Spike In Moon’s Price

                Budget Method Is Using 10-20 Moon’s Breath At 13, 14

                But Bonus Rates Are Lower Of Course

                

For T2 Weapon To +15

        Very Costly Due To Amount Of Leapstone Required

                Neither Wait For Daily Free Ones Or Buy

        For  1-11 Normal Upgrade

        12-13: I Used 20 Moon’s Breath (10-15 If On Budget)

        13->14: Used 20 Moon + Metallurgy (No Need Metallurgy If On Budget)

        14->15: Used 20 Moon + Metallurgy (Bonus 10% Really Helps)

T3 Honing Is A NIGHTMARE!

New Honing Material Added:

        Solar Grace:  1.25% - 0.84% - 0.21% -> 0.14% (Usage Doubles To 12->24)

        Solar Blessing: 2.50% - 1.76% - 0.42% -> 0.28% (Usage Doubles To 6->12)

        Solar Protection: 7.5% - 5% - 1.25% -> 0.83% (Usage Doubles To 2->4)

Rates Lowers At 8->9, 11->12 Honing

        Also Max Bonus Rate Goes To 45%->30% 8->9

                                    To 30%->15%  11->12

                                    To 15% -> 10% 14->15

>>Might Lower Rates After 15 Too! This Is So Crazy!

T3 Honing To 1325 Is 100%

T3 Honing To 1340 Starts To Get Costly (60%-30%!)

        Needs All Gears To Be +9!

For T3 Armor Honing

        I Didn't Use Any Rate Up, 7->9 Just Went For It

        This Is By Excel & By Current Market Price Cheaper**

        Failing At 30% Doesnt Feel Good, But This Is Saving Mats For +15

                NOTE: It Is Slower To Get To 1340 This Way!

For T3 Weapon Honing

                I Didn't Use Any Rate Up At 7->8

        This Was Probably A Mistake Or I Was Just So Unlucky!

        Failed 4 Times On This Upgrade! (At 45%, 49%, 55%, 59% Seriously??)

               I Plan To Use Rate Up Mats For 8->9 For Weapon

        As This Rate  Will Reduce By One Third At 9->10**

I Will Update My Own Findings For T3 Honing As I Go

        Currently Lacking Rates For +10 Onwards

        If There Are Further Bonus Rate Reduction

                Like 45% ->30%

**Please Use The Excel Calculator With A Grain Of Salt**

        Im Very Rusty And Unknown If More Rate Changes

How Does The Excel Helps With T3 Honing Cost Saving

  1. Shows Which T3 Rate Up Mats Is Cheaper At Same Bonus Rate
  2. Shows The Cost Of Buy All Mats Vs Using Own Leapstones & Honor Shards
  3. Shows Dynamic Market Price Change → Effect To Cost Of Honing
  1. If Market Price Drops, Rate Up Mats Are Better Of Course
  2. But If Rate Up Mats Price Inflate (Shows If Its Cheaper To No Use Them)
  1. It Is A Little Rough To The Eye >.<

 This Excel Gives The Expected Cost Of Each Honing, Its Goal Is To Lower The Expected Cost To Save Gold

        Based On The Market Price For The Honing Rate Up Mats

        Give Us Better Judgment Of Which Rate Up Mat Is Cheaper To Us

        A Theory That Find The Lowest Cost Method

        Works When We Attempt Many Many Times

        Which Is The Case Here (With Fails + Success Calculated)

The formula (Please let me know if there is a mistake!)

(Price of Shards x Number of shards + Cost of leapstone & honor shards) / ( Current Rate Of Success)

= Expected Cost Of Upgrading (Successfully)

(Price of Shards x Number of shards + Cost of leapstone & honor shards + Price Of Rate Up Mats x Its Quantity) / (1 Current Rate Of Success + Bonus Rate From Number Of Rate Up Mats)

        Adjusted Bonus Rate To 66% Of Base Rate After +9 (As We Found Out Its Evil Changes!)

        Adjusted Bonus Rate To 6 TIMES LOWER Of Base Rate After +11 ( Found Out It's MORE Evil Changes!)

        Likely Lower Rates For 14 -> +15 Too!

What The Excel Does Not Adjust For:

  1. Bonus Pity From Failing (Artisan Energy)
  1. But This Just Favors No Using Rate Up Mats
  2. Which Is By Default Cheaper Method

                  100% Success After 5 Fails At 7->8 (Tested)

  1. Further Lower Of Rate Ups
  1. I Will Update This Once I Get There
  2. This Only Makes Rate Up Mats More Expensive
  3. Favors Default Method

Artisan Energy

        This Is When We Fail Many Times In A Roll On The Same Gear

        Game Will Pity Us & Give The Next Honing As 100% Instead Of Its Base Rate

        

        We Also Get 10% Of the Base Rate Each Time We Fail

        So At Base Rate Of 30%, 33% For 1 Fail, Then Its: 36%, 39%, 42%, 45% Success Rate

        At +9 -> +10 I failed 5 Times In A Roll! About 19-16% Artisan Energy Per Fail

        +8 -> +9 For Weapon With Full Rate Up Mats, Failing Gives 29% Artisan Energy

                It Is More Costly With All Those Rate Up T3 Mats Tho!

        This System Favors Not Using Rate Up Mats, 10% Base Rate Bonus + Pity After 5-6 Fails

                Depending On T3 Mats Prices In The Market

I Have Now Adjusted For Bonus 10% Base & Looked Into Artisian’s Energy

NEW: My Step To Step Method To +14 For T3 Gears (Plans For +15 Too)

I Will Be Using My CURRENT Server Market Price As Example (Make Sure To Adjust To Your Own!)

  1. 2 Options, Push For 1325 - 1340 Faster Or Start The Saving Method
  1. If We Want 1340 Fast For Abyss Weekly & Higher Guardian Raid, Then Using Rate Up 7 -> 9  Is Okay
  1. Because Rate Up Mats Enjoy Max Bonus Rate Before +10
  1. So This Means Rate Up Mats (If We Can Afford)
  1. For 7 -> +9 Weapon
  2. And For 7/8 -> +9 Armor 60% 45% 30%
  1. I Used Rate Up For My Weapon 8 -> +9 Only, I Didn't Use Any Rate Up For 7 -> +9 For Armor
  1. Had Many Fails, But I Wanted To Save Up
  1. Other Option (Cheaper But Could Be Slower To 1340)
  1. Use Rate Up For Weapon 7 -> +9
  2. Don't Use Any Rate Up For Armor 7 -> +9
  1. What To Do After 1340 +9 -> +12  Honing!
  1. This Is When Rate Up Mats Bonus Rate Falls For The First Time, Reduced By 33%
  2. There Is Also No Longer A Rush To 1355, Only Opens 1 Higher Level Chaos Dungeon

  1. What I Recommend:
  1. Weapon: +9 -> +12 (Use Full Rate Up If We Can Afford)
  2. Armor: +9 ->  12 (Don't Use Any Rate Up)
  1. The Logic Behind This:
  1. Cost Of Weapon With Rate Up & Without Is Very Close
  1. But Using Rate Up Gives Us Higher Success Rate
  2. We Take That, As The Best Use Of Our Untradable Rate Up Mats
  3. My Untradable Mats From Mari’s Shop & Chaos Dungeon Runs (Guide 1, 2)
  1. Cost Of Armor Not Using Rate Up Mats Is Much Lower!
  1. E.g. 3520g Vs 5414g (See Excel For +10 Amor)
  1. Expect Many Fails With Armor, But Weapon Will SUCCEED MORE & Save MORE
  1. 30% & 15% Vs 60% & 30%
  1. Because We Would NOT Have Enough Untradalbe Rate Mats For All Armor Too!
  1. What To Do After 1355 +12 -> +14  Honing
  1. Similar Method To What I Recommend At +9 -> +12:
  1. Weapon: +12 -> +14  (Use Full Rate Up If We Can Afford)
  2. Armor: +12 -> +14  (Don't Use Any Rate Up)
  1. What To Do For  1370 +14 - > +15  Honing!
  1. Final Push For T3 1370 & New Content!
  2. Weapon: +14 -> +15  (Use Full Rate Up If We Can Afford)
  1. This Provides More Value & Saving For Our Mats
  1. Make Sure To Use As Much Untradable Destruction Stones As We Can
  1. As They Become Less Useful Unless We Get New 1370 Gears
  2. Also We Can Start To Sell ALL Red Stones That Are Tradable Once Weapon +15
  1. Consider Using The Rate Up Mats For Armor +15
  1. The Left Over One From The Weapon
  2. Using Rate Up Mats Earlier Is Better Than Using It After A Few Fails
  1. As Each Time We Fail, Base Rate +1%
  2. Very Tiny Min & Max Rats, Not A Big Deal
  1. Consider Preparing Enough Destructive & Guardian Stones For +15
  1. Expect Many Fails
