Internal Polling Report

For immediate internal release

The ProgrammaticallySun7 Senate campaign has conducted internal polling across Sierra. Our findings will be outlined in this document, district by district.

While our campaign has started off strong, there is still much to be done in the way of reaching new voters. We must increase turnout dramatically. The following is important voter registration info for our campaign.

The top target for our campaign is, and should remain, Sierra’s second congressional district. With over 45% of the population of the state, it is critical that we gain control of it. Sierra’s second district has killed campaigns before, and it will continue to kill campaigns if nothing is done.

Overall, the state as a whole is more receptive to our campaign message than previously thought. Strong grassroots engagement and canvassing will help boost us and may tip us over on election day. Our early voting drives, too, may help us sneak away with a victory over Senator Hurricane. All in all, things are looking up.

Sierra’s First Congressional District

Internal polling for Sierra’s first congressional district is satisfactory. While it would be better for us to be polling at or around 55%, it is nevertheless an encouraging sign of congressman ProgrammaticallySun7’s undying support in the area. It is certainly a rare sight to see a district continue to support a representative over a term after they leave it.

Looking at the map, nothing appears to be too out of the ordinary when contrasted against historical elections. The only real change is the fact that Sun has won back Navajo county, a traditional Republican county in the ex-state of Arizona, and the good polling in Summit county in the ex-state of Utah. This is largely to be expected and it should be noted that these counties normally are decently Republican, but they have been a bit more volatile in recent years.

Key campaign areas for Programmatically are Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, and Denver. Las Vegas County and Salt Lake County have higher chances of flipping, so they should be prioritized over the latter two. Expect Congressman ProgrammaticallySun7 to make several campaign stops in these cities during the last days of campaigning.

Sierra’s Second Congressional District

Sierra’s second congressional district remains a thorn in the side of ProgrammaticallySun7’s Senate campaign. Despite the fact that it has been trending Republican as of late, the state still has a large number of swing voters. This would not be a problem if it were a smaller district, like SIerra’s 3rd congressional district, but SR-2 is the largest district out of all. It is so incredibly supersized that over 10% of the entire nation’s registered voters are located in this district. As such, it makes it a critical target. We must hit 46% in SR-2 or ProgrammaticallySun7’s Senate campaign is doomed, barring an act of God.

The good news for ProgrammaticallySun7 is that the campaign has been breaking through into some of the more left-leaning swing areas, particularly Sacramento, San Diego, and even Mono county, the ever elusive Democrat county that, despite having perfect Republican demographics, almost never votes Republican. Still, any lead there is likely unstable or a byproduct of polling error. Sun’s Senate campaign undoubtedly needs to focus more of its efforts on the northwest side of the district as there is plenty of turnout to be had there, particularly in some of the counties northeast of the Sierra bay.

Sierra’s Third Congressional District

Sierra’s third congressional district is home to perhaps the most humdrum results that we gained from our internal polling. It is to be expected from a swing district. Unlike Sierra’s second congressional district, however, it does not violently swing, rather it votes within reasonable margins for both Democrats and Republicans.

Polls in the ex-state of Oregon are fairly encouraging, but bear some overall similarities to the 2004 Presidential election results, wherein Bush won 47% of the vote. Some more campaigning is still needed here to increase turnout, particularly in the coastal counties and in the county of Lane. Some more canvassing could also be done in the suburbs of Portland. While these suburban counties typically swing Democrat, they may be able to be persuaded to go Republican. In the ex-state of Washington, results are a little bit less encouraging. The GOP has largely reached its limit electorally, so it’s highly unlikely that the campaign will see any county pickups. A bit more canvassing, particularly with religious groups, could increase turnout, but it would be negligible. Finally, the ex-state of Idaho has also largely reached its limit in terms of Republican turnout. The Democrats will likely not compete.

Sierra’s Fourth Congressional District

Sierra’s fourth congressional district contains undoubtedly the best poll results out of any of Sierra’s congressional districts. This good fortune is no doubt in part buoyed by Republican congressman /u/bandic00t_’s great successes in the region. With any luck, SR-4 is turning into a real Republican stronghold.

The pickup of counties in the ex-state of Hawaii is also extremely encouraging. Hawaii was always a democratic stronghold, though Honolulu and Maui county have, on occasion, drifted Republican. Congressman ProgrammaticallySun7’s lead in Maui is extremely thin, but it does leave one wondering whether Republican fortunes could be reversing.

ProgrammaticallySun7 needn’t make any personal campaign stops to secure SR-4. All he needs to do is to keep up a few canvassing operations by volunteers. Congressman bandic00t_ will undoubtedly swing turnout in favour of Republicans, so there is no real fear of the district falling into Democrat hands at the ballot box.

Sierra as a Whole

As a whole, Sierra remains ripe for the taking. A few more well-placed campaign stops and organized local canvassing operations will tip the state in our favour. Internet campaigns, too, have been very successful. Our Reddit AMA event managed to capture some new supporters and those on the fence. With any luck, the increasingly online population of Sierra’s second congressional district will turn out in droves for us at the polling stations.

Finally, despite ferocious ridicule from left wing pundits, the scandals that were predicted to plague the campaign have mostly dissipated. A surprisingly large amount of people do not care about the Dixie Inn decision and/or are horribly informed. The strategy of repeatedly apologizing and then ignoring the Israel comments has also been supremely successful. Not everything, however, has been successful. Our billboard campaigns have largely been a bust. Not only that, but they are expensive.

In conclusion, ProgrammaticallySun7 remains firmly in contention for the Sierra Senate race. With a little bit more effort and some fundraising, ProgrammaticallySun7 will steal the race.
