What: Eleven Visibility Events on the Eastside to Get Out the Early Vote

When: Oct 17th - 11 am - 1 pm

Why: October 17th is a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensure every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. We are asking people to vote early so that come election day, the results are irrefutable.  Events are happening across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

DOs and DON’Ts

  • DO bring a sign such as Vote Early, Return ballot TODAY! Use A Ballot Box, Bee an early voter (with a Bee image), Your Vote is Your Superpower!
  • DO dress for the weather or wear a costume and bring water and a snack.
  • DO sign up for ballot alerts at vote.wa.gov and vote early.
  • DO NOT block sidewalks or stand in the street. Follow the requests of Host and Safety team members
  • DO NOT hold signs or handout materials within 100 ft of a ballot drop box. The law states 25 ft but we do not want anyone feeling intimidating.
  • DO NOT bring campaign signs or wear partisan shirts - this is a non-partisan event. Some people may show up with campaign signs - but as we are not the sign police we will leave them to their free speech.

We’d love to have at least two more pop-up events at this location using the provided signs and props. If you’re willing to lead, connect with others at the event and agree on a couple of dates and times, then share your contact info with the Host so she can hand the kit off to you.
