Middle School Sports - Spring 2025

We are excited to start registration for the 2024 Spring Sports season here at High Rock! There are three sports available for grade 6 students, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee and Track and Field.  

Registration Opens: Monday March 3, 2025

Registration Deadline: Monday March 24, 2025

Season Begins: Week of April 8th

Season Ends: Around Memorial Day

Softball (Tryouts*)

Tryouts: Tuesday April 8, Wednesday April 9 & Thursday April 10 and if needed Friday April 11th;@ Pollard Field from 3-4

Practices: are 3-4 times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays--with occasional Monday/Friday

Games: start at 3:45 (days of the week can vary)

Fee: $260

Ultimate Frisbee(co-ed) (Tryouts**)

Tryouts: Tuesday April 8, Wednesday April 9 & Thursday April 10 and if needed Friday April 11th; 3-4:30 @ Pollard Field from 3-4

Practice: 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4

Matches: start at 3:45 (days of the week can vary)

Fee: $260

Track and Field (co-ed) (no cuts)

Team Meeting Tuesday April 8 @ Pollard Cafe 2:50-3:30.

Practice: 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4

Meets: start at 3:45 (days of the week can vary)

Fee: $235

*Tryouts for Softball will take place over the first 2-4 days of preseason. Students demonstrating the best ability AND ability to commit to the season will be offered spots on the roster. Roster sizes may range from 12-15. Cuts may not be necessary depending on numbers.

**A maximum of 36 students may participate in Ultimate Frisbee to ensure safety and supervision during the season. The first 36 students that register will be given priority, but must commit to attending all practices and games throughout the season. Students participating in other activities that may require them to miss Ultimate Frisbee should not take the spot of another student that may be able to fully commit to the season.

Using Bus to Get to Pollard

• All High Rock Students -- will take a bus after school at 2:10 to Pollard.  Once at Pollard they will report to the cafeteria where they will work on homework and can purchase a snack; supervised in the cafe by a Pollard teacher from 2:20-2:50
• High Rock Students that have a bus pass will take their regular bus to Pollard for practice and games
• High Rock Students that do NOT have a bus pass- please send their name to nicole_piatelli@needham.k12.ma.us, and she will assign them a bus to take over to Pollard for practice and games.

Payment:

Payments due at registration or before first practice.  Please use this link to know how to retrieve Online Payment ID  and use myschoolbucks.com to complete payment before the first practice. Financial Assistance is available upon request to nicole_piatelli@needham.k12.ma.us.  If your child is trying out for a sport with cuts, please do NOT make a payment until the team is created

We are excited to start registration for the 2024-25 Winter Sports season here at High Rock! There are two sports available for grade 6 students, Dance Team and Wrestling.  

Registration Opens: Friday November 1, 2024

Registration Deadline: Friday November 22, 2024

Season Begins: Week of December 10th

Season Ends: Week before February Break

Performance Dance (co-ed)

• First day of practice is Tuesday December 10, 2024 from 3-4. 
• NO WEEKEND COMMITMENTS
• Practices: at Pollard will be 3-4 times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays--with occasional Monday/Friday--- a finalized schedule will be sent out a week before the season begins.
• Performances: during half times of basketball games.
• Basketball Games: start at 3:45 (days of the week can vary)
• All High Rock Students -- will take a bus after school at 2:10 to Pollard.  Once at Pollard they will report to the cafeteria where they will work on homework and can purchase a snack; supervised in the cafe by a Pollard teacher from 2:20-2:50
• High Rock Students that have a bus pass will take their regular bus to Pollard for practice and games
• High Rock Students that do NOT have a bus pass- please send their name to nicole_piatelli@needham.k12.ma.us, and she will assign them a bus to take over to Pollard for practice and games

Wrestling(co-ed)

• Practice: 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
• Practice Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
• Practice Location: NHS Wrestling Gym
• Matches will be scheduled before high school matches
• Fee: $260

• Wrestling ($260): Payment is due before the first match.

High Rock Cross Country

We are excited to start registration for the 2024 Fall Sports season here at High Rock! There is one sport available for grade 6 students which is cross country.

Important Information

• Team Meeting Tuesday September 10th @ Pollard Cafe 2:50-3:30.
• Practice days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 3:00-4:00pm
• NO WEEKEND COMMITMENTS
• Meets will occur about once a week and can be any day of the week; starting at 3:45.(Please note due to staffing issues with our contracted bus company buses can run late- coaches will communicate this with families as soon as we are informed.)
• The season will end around the last week of October
