Our first colleague at Trellis Road ❤️

We (Anna & Erik) started Trellis Road in 2020 and have now invested in 15 high-impact foodtech startups globally, all providing solutions for some of the world’s most critical challenges including climate change, environmental issues, human health and animal welfare. You can read about some of our investments here, here, here and here.

We invest small tickets in very early stages of the startup’s life. Founders typically want us onboard because of our strong mission-alignment and the support that comes from us having been startup founders ourselves – all the way from idea to exit.

Until now it has only been the two of us, and we’re now about to take the very big step of adding our first colleague to our team. We will tailor the exact title and work responsibilities in discussion with the right individual, but here are some of the things that you’d do:

• Hunt for our next investment; do detective work to find the world’s most ambitious startup founders solving important problems related to the food system
• Evaluate the commercial, technical and impact aspects of early stage startups
• Deep-dives & analyzing new markets, problems and technologies
• Write public content and reports and create helpful resources for our startups
• Interact with startups, investors and stakeholders in the high-impact foodtech space

To be successful and enjoy this we think that you: 

• Have a strong foodtech, impact and/or startup interest and are deeply driven by doing something meaningful

• Are curious, analytical and a strong communicator, especially in writing
• Have very high ambition expectations for yourself and others
• Have a startup mindset, ideally with startup and/or startup investment background
• Are independent, well organized and enjoy managing your own work
• Enjoy working in English

As we want you to get a part of the investment profits, we’ll offer you carry (which at traditional funds is typically reserved for partners). We’ll of course offer you a decent salary – but definitely less than you’d make in management consulting, investment banking etc. But we offer you a lot more fun, a steeper learning curve and a very meaningful job!

It’s a full-time job with a lot of flexibility – we trust you to manage your own time and work. We’re looking for someone in a European timezone who is willing to spend at least a few days per month in Stockholm. Living close to Stockholm is a plus, as we’re at the office 2-3 days per week. Start date is flexible but we’d love to hear from you as soon as possible!
