• That you could join/split the climate control by pressing the temperature itself and pressing the icon at the top(I'd just been using the plus and minus buttons to do the temperature, and it arrived with split climate control).
  • Tap on the temperature to bring up the full screen adjustment thing. At the top of the screen, there's a symbol that looks like the link of a chain. Tap that to toggle between split/synced.
  • There is a rain sensor on/off button on the wiper stalk (I'd just had it on intermittent wipe and was adjusting the sensitivity wheel)
  • You can get the wing mirrors to auto dip on the reverse (or do it manually by pressing the wing mirror button twice)

  • For times of weak 4G signal (or 4G just stops working), YT music app can store offline music. Press the gear/settings icon on YT music (only works when stationary) and you can set a slider on how much offline storage to use and whether to download over wifi only/4G. Takes a little while to populate, but then offline music comes up as an option on the app.
  • There is a pen holder clip in each of the small cubby holes in the centre tunnel (found today and wanted to let the world know) And in the glove box
  • hold down the white 'home' button on the touchscreen for 2-3 seconds to enter screen clean mode. Lovely touch and a nice and easy way to clean the screen without changing a million settings randomly. car symbol at top, more, power off

  • If you press both L & R mirror buttons the mirrors will fold (such as that is). They always fold when locking the car, but this is helpful if you want them folded prior to parking and locking your car.
  • The rubber bottom of the cupholder comes out for easy cleaning.
  • You can engage the ACC without being in motion. It sets to the minimum of 20mph. In every other car I've had you have to get to the minimum speed in order to set the ACC.
  • For anyone else having Bluetooth phone connection drops ("Polestar PS2" connection) while driving,  just say "Hey Google, turn Bluetooth Off", then wait a sec, then say the opposite to turn it back on, and voila - phone is connected again!
  • When I'm backing into my garage, I use the 360-degree view setting on the camera because I need to see behind and to the side where there is a wall. I just realized that if you tap the screen and disable the parking sensors to stop the annoying beeping (which I already knew about), it also disables the red warning rectangles on the 360-degree screen that tend to obscure the very thing you are trying not to hit. Makes it much easier to see what you are doing!
  • the side mirrors get bumped and adjusted easily (car washes, passers by, etc.). While this is certainly annoying that they mirrors frequently are not where I left them, I did figure out an easy way to remedy the situation. I have my seats and mirrors saves as a seat memory on the door. If they every don't look right, I just press and hold that memory button and they jump back to where they should be.
  • When using ACC, if you come into a turn hot (like a freeway to freeway ramp), the ACC will reduce your speed on it's own. hat's the "Curve Speed Assist" functionality.
  • On the back of the carpet mats, there's a little graphic to show you where the mat goes. (Helpful for those rear mats.)
  •  If your phone contacts has a address listed for a contact you can direct the navigation system to instantly set your destination to that address. Just scroll to the contact in your listing, top on the name, then tap on the orange bar.
  • if a back seat passenger turns on the light for the back seat and then hops out without extinguishing, no need to reach back there to turn it off. You can quickly turn it off by punching the all light button in the front and then turning off the all light button.
  • I noticed today that double-tapping the play/pause button will change to the next song.

  • you can easily remove the rubber bumper stops for the rear lift gate by giving them a firm 1/8 to 1/4 turn? They lift right out for cleaning when you wash your car! I was thrilled to discover this because it is hard to get the grime out from behind them when they are in place.
  • If you climb out the passenger side without opening the driver's door, the car still thinks it's active and refuses to lock.
  • I had an appointment with an address set in my Google calendar. This morning when I got in the car, that destination showed up as a suggestion in Google maps in the car
  • If you reverse at more than 5 mph, the auto-wingmirror returns to it's driving position. And doesn't go back to the angle down parking position once you slow down.
  • holding down the door unlock button on remote will lower all the windows down about a fourth of the way
  • you can keep the accessory power on (ie open/close windows, radio, AC/heat, etc), after leaving the car by pressing the play/pause button Under the center screen.
  • When you exceed 140km/h, the steering wheel vibrates shortly. That's the PA signaling it's disengaging.
  • if you hold your finger on the indoor cabin light (after you've turned it on) it slowly dims the overhead cabin lighting. And if you keep holding it down, it brightens up again. 
  • If a rear door is not firmly closed, the info panel says no key found. This is corrected if the doors are reclosed. This has been a known problem for a long time but they haven't yet fixed.
  •  if you have more than 6 apps in any one quadrant, you can swipe on the 3 dots at the bottom of the quadrant and a new screen pops up with all the icons in that quadrant. Pressing the X at the bottom of that new screen returns to the 4 corners view.
  • you could manually pull the front seats forward. Maybe for taller people?
  • when you lock the doors by touching the door handle you can close the windows up as well (if they were open). You just have to rest your finger/thumb on the door handle for a little longer and then it will close the windows too. Unfortunately, can't bring the windows down by holding your hand on the inside of the door handle.

The tailgate can be set to stop opening at a certain height, for example if the tailgate needs to be opened in a garage with a low ceiling.

Setting max opening height

  1. Open the tailgate to the desired opening height.

  • Hold the white line at the bottom of the screen (home button) until you see a message like screen cleaning mode.

  • Getting error "trailer system service required" and towbar is non functional. Removed fuses 41 & 42 in the fuse box by the 12V battery and reinstalled them. Worked fine after that.

  • Matrix High Beam recognizes oncoming traffic through the camera and masks it by turning individual LEDs off.
  • There's a "Tow Mode" mentioned in the User Manual.  Not to exceed 18mph when [being flat-]towed.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control updates in 5mph increments when you press the up/down arrow. Quick press 5mph, long press 1mph (then after than for a little while short presses will still do 1mph).
  • Using a genie point charger earlier and the cable wouldn't release. Solution provided by the help line: lock the vehicle, then hold the unlock on the fob for 3 to 5 secs (you'll know when because all the windows will open). A few seconds later the cable was released. One reason to always take the bigger key with you.
  • If you press heat rare window, it also turns on the side mirror heating.
  • The window controls have 3 speeds depending on how far you depress the switch. 
  • There are indeed three speeds but it works as follows:-
    Very fast: this happens if you fully depress or pull the switch to use the auto function.
    Very slow: this happens if you partially pull the switch, and the window is within about two inches of the closed position
    Normal: this happens if you partially pull the switch, but the window is more than three inches from the closed position
    So basically, the closer the window is to being closed, the finer grained the control you have unless you've just told it you want to fully open or fully close. Smart.
  • you can swipe through submenus. ou can also swipe down in quadrants in the home screen to get to other icons.
  • the lid for the second cup holder/storage space between the front seats can be slid forward as an adjustable arm rest
  •  if you are in one screen and jump to another say from Maps to regen choice if you press the icon again it goes back to the previous screen you were in (Maps). 
  • the hazard lights are triggered when braking hard and tightens the seat belts. (not sure if applicable in NA)
  • If you click on sound experience you can mute the front or rear speakers by toggling the speaker button on the right side of the screen.
  • the rubber lining in the door storage pulls out for easy cleaning.
  • I've known about the handbrake activation feature for ages (press down hard on brake peddle when stationary).
  • I was listening to a podcast in my Polestar 2 when the presenter recommended a video to watch on YouTube. Given the infotainment system is Android I figured I'd try this, "OK Google, add <name of video> to my watch later list on YouTube". Bingo! It did exactly that! Nice.
  • I accidentally asked Assistant to resume the current podcast I was listening to in the house, the same way I do it when I want to resume on one of my many Google Assistant powered devices. Lo, and Behold, the Infotainment system in the car happily started playing my podcast in the car natively!
  • If vehicle won’t start, it could be because 12V battery is discharged. To jump start the vehicle you will need to connect jumper cables to the charging points on the 12V Battery (under hood hidden under the panel)
  • Remote control rapid cooling for the summer. Hold down middle button of the key for 5 seconds. The windows open fully and the fans come on full blast.
  • Press and hold the lock button for 5 seconds and it will close all the windows too.
  • You can close the windows by keyless locking too, just hold your hand over the sensor a bit longer than you normally would. 
  • you can change the height of the strap on the grocery divider.
  • you can fully open the glovebox, by pressing the latches on both sides (when it's normally opened). Behind it is a small panel you can remove by pressing two tabs.
