If a child needs a diaper change or assistance in the bathroom, the child must be brought to the parent/guardian. Individual providers may only change diapers and/or assist in the bathroom if they make an explicit verbal agreement with an individual parent/guardian and everyone involved feels comfortable. This is to protect the child and the provider. There may be times when you have to help a child in the bathroom without explicit permission -- two providers should go to assist the child.
Children who are independent in the bathroom will be allowed to use toilets after caretakers have deemed the bathroom clear from others. Children may not be alone in the bathroom with an adult.
