Hello WakeOne,

I am writing to express my concerns about the unfair and unjust treatment of KIM JIWOONG of ZEROBASEONE since the beginning of this year. Listed below are the key issues that I want to share with you: 

  1. Social media activity: During the span of these past five months, Jiwoong has only made three posts, under his name on social media platform X. His last post addressing his fans was more than two months ago.

I demand you to let the members of ZEROBASEONE post freely on social media, especially Jiwoong on platform X who has not been able to address his fans even once since the past two months. Let him post frequently.

  1. Exposure from TikTok challenges: Since the beginning of the year, Jiwoong has participated in very few TikTok challenges and rarely does any TikTok challenges with other idols outside of ZEROBASEONE members, especially during Sweat promotions. Jiwoong is a very creative individual and it is quite clear that you are not fostering an environment for him to nurture his talent at all.

I demand wakeone to let Jiwoong post freely on social media platform TikTok. Please let him use his creativity and showcase his talent by letting him do more solo TikTok challenges and TikTok challenges with other idols outside of ZEROBASEONE. Please also consider filtering out harmful comments that may endanger Kim Jiwoong at the earliest.

  1. Solo and Subunit Opportunities: The most important point of all is the fact that Jiwoong hasn’t had any solo schedule, and the only subunit schedule he had with Sung Hanbin was not promoted by you at all. Instead you got their names removed from the pre-order list and canceled their interview video broadcast for no reason. His absence from the spotlight is disheartening to many fans, including myself. It creates a negative effect on both fans and the artist himself. Also, the fact that you comment on articles regarding how each member shines with their respective schedules, while Jiwoong only had one subunit schedule throughout 2024, which wasn’t even promoted, has raised concerns among fans.

I demand WAKEONE to act fairly in scheduling solo and sub-unit activities for ZEROBASEONE members, especially for Kim Jiwoong. Provide him with the opportunity to shine individually, whether in music shows, variety shows or events, as he possesses the skills for it. His fans appreciate his distinct qualities and wish to see him shine in front of a broader audience alongside his fellow ZEROBASEONE members.

Please consider these measures to both showcase Kim Jiwoong's talents and protect him from negativity. I also demand WAKEONE to implement real actions to protect your artist, starting with the initial filtering of harmful comments and responding promptly and decisively to malicious comments and harassment targeting Kim Jiwoong. These actions are crucial for safeguarding his mental health and maintaining his reputation, thereby supporting the sustainability of his future career.

Additionally, Kim Jiwoong’s talents have been underutilized with minimal screen time in the latest MV released by ZEROBASEONE. A balanced representation of all members in the MV, including KIM JIWOONG, enhances the overall group dynamics and fan engagement for the MV.

The three main concerns mentioned above are the result of my analysis of your treatment towards Kim Jiwoong over the past five months. Please find attached, a PDF of summary table of analysis of the mistreatment and evidence, in this email as a subject to follow-up.
