4 the People

Banner supplies and instructions:

This is the netting we used from Home Depot, $18.27, 40" x 25'. You should be able to to get two rows of letters. We doubled it up and overlapped top/bottom to get 3 rows of letters.

The letters we used were templates we printed out(from the Backbone Campaign website) and glued to cardboard. We ordered an orange tarp off the internet, it is 12 mil thick and is bright orange. We punched holes per the templates. We attached the letters to the netting via these bulk twist ties she got from Amazon. Cut the twist ties in 6” lengths. Put through hole on letter and twist 2 or 3 times. Then attach to netting.

Here are the painter poles we use,6-12'. We bought them at Home Depot. If you buy 4, the price drops from $38.71 to$32.90

The caps are from a 6" painter roller. We bought them from Harbor Freight for $2.49 ea, you will need 2 per banner. We used a regular hack saw to cut the handle.

The PVC pipe is 1", rated at 200psi. We got this at Lowe's for $4.50, 10' long. The lower PSI allows for a thinner pipe wall which then allows it to slip over the extension on the painters pole. You can get this from any home store. Just cut to length of the sign netting.

We just cover the PVC pipe with black duck tape for better visual. I think the white will distract from the sign. We left an extra 6" of netting on each end. We rolled the netting around the PVC and overlapped the netting by about an inch. We then secured the netting with black zip ties about every 6-8".

Note: as you can see, in the pictures, on the taller banner. The PVC piping does not go completely top to bottom. This is due to the paint extension only going up to    61 1/2”. So we cut the PVC piping to 61” and positioned it flush with the top of the banner. This is so you can attach the caps on top, this keeps the banner from sliding off the poles. The excess banner material will slide over the bottom portion of the pole.

We used 11" black zip ties from Harbor Freight, $3.49 for 100, for attaching the netting to the PVC piping. We used their smaller ones for securing the mesh together when making the banners taller.

Here are our completed banners.
