“Enfoque en la Asistencia”

• Si su niño está ausente, por favor envíe una nota escrita por el padre o el doctor con el primer nombre del niños y el apellido, razón de la ausencia(s), fecha de la ausencia(s), y el nombre de la maestra.  

• Mande las notas médicas siempre si su hijo fue al doctor.  Sin la nota las ausencias será  injustificadas.

• Todos los viajes educativos deben ser aprobados 5 días antes del viaje.  Tiene que llenar y completar una solicitud del permiso en la oficina de la escuela. Solo la Directora puede dar el permiso.. Si no está aprobado antes de salir, las ausencias será injustificadas.

• Los estudiantes deben estar presente en la escuela el día escolar completo. Por favor, limite las tardanzas y salidas tempranas, ya que será excusado sólo para emergencias.

• Si los estudiantes llegan tarde, los padres deben firmar los estudiantes en el registro de tardanzas en la oficina. Los estudiantes deben dar a su maestra una nota de tardanza antes de entrar en la clase. No dejen a sus hijos y se van.

• Las ausencias justificadas incluyen:
        Enfermedad o lesión (si no hay excesivo)
        Cuarentena por el departamento de salud*
        Muerte en la familia inmediata*
        Cita médica o dental
        Procedimientos judiciales o administrativos que require la presencia del estudiante*
        La observancia religiosa*
        Oportunidad Educativa que está aprobado anteriormente*

• Las ausencias injustificadas son:
  Cualquier otras razónes para las ausencias son injustificados (por ejemplo: cuidado de niños, fuera de la ciudad, el tiempo mal, perder el autobús, quedarse dormido, la mamá estaba enferma).

• Pueda llamar a la escuela para chequar la asistancia de su hijo y si hay justificado, pero tambien tenga la opción de usar el Parent Portal en el internet.  Sí no tenga el codigo para entrar, pueda ir a la escuela de su hijo y lo pedir.

• Si su hijo se acumula 10 o más ausencias injustificadas, el padre puede ir a la Corte o a un programa se llama TIP.   Por favor revise Asociación de Intervención Absentismo Escolar (TIP) y la asistencia obligatoria a la escuela”NC legal GS-115C-378” que se puede encontrar en el sitio de web de las Escuelas del Condado de Johnston para solicitar la información.

• Si las ausencias de la clase llega mas de cuatro por cada nueve semanas, ocho por semestre o deiciseis por año, las calificaciones puedan ser afectadas, independientemente de las razones de las ausencias por la Regla de JCS # 4110.

Por favor ayúdenos a ayudar a su hijo a tener éxito en la escuela,

asistiendo regularmente a la escuela, llegar a tiempo y mediante la limitación de salidas tempranas.

“Spotlight on Attendance”

• If your child is absent, please send a written note from the parent/guardian or doctor with the child’s first/last name, reason for absence(s), date of absence(s), and teacher’s name on the day that they return to school.

• Medical notes should be provided if your child went to the doctor. Not having a note will result in unexcused absences.

• All Educational Trips must be approved 5 days in advance by requesting and completing a form from the office. Approval must be given by the principal.  If it is not approved in advance the absence(s) will be unexcused.

• Students are expected to remain in school the entire instructional day. Please limit tardiness and early dismissals as they will be excused for emergencies only.

• If students are tardy, a parent must sign the student in on the Tardy Log in the office. Students must give their teacher a Tardy Slip before entering the class.  Do not drop your child off and leave.

• Excused Absences include:

      Illness or Injury of the child (unless these are in excess)

      Quarantine by the Health Department*

      Death in the Immediate family*

      Medical or Dental Appointment

      Court or Administrative Proceedings for which the student is required to be present*

      Religious Observance*

      Educational Opportunity that is preapproved*

                *will require additional documentation

• Unexcused Absences include:

Any reason other than those listed under Excused Absences above including such things as babysitting, car problems, out of town, weather, missing the bus, oversleeping, mom was sick, etc.

• You can call the school to check on your child’s attendance and what absences have been coded, but you now also have the option to check online via the Parent Portal.  If you have not already received your access code for this, you can go to your child’s school to request it.

•  If your child accumulates 10 or more unexcused absences, the parent/guardian can be required to go before TIP and/or go to court. Please review TIP(Truancy Intervention Partnership) and the N.C. Compulsory School Attendance Law (G.S.-115C-378) which can be found on the Johnston County School website, your child’s school website or call the school to request the information.

• If absences from class exceed four per nine weeks, eight per semester or sixteen per year, grades can be affected, regardless of the reasons for the absences per JCS Board Policy 4110.
