Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Onion Jousting, Empty tennis ball cans and tennis ball required for each student, object is to balance your tennis ball upon the empty tennis ball can while others try to knock it off

Intro: Good afternoon class, today we are going to introduce weights into our circuit training. Be careful not to overdo it and strain yourself.

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Triangle Tag, groups of 4, one person the tagger, other 3 form a triangle, the tagger tries to tag

Intro: Hello class, if you look around the gymnasium you’ll notice plenty of exercise balls. Now those are not meant for bouncing, rather they are meant to assist you in sit ups.

Fitness component (Heart rate, step counts, etc.): Sit Up Counts, Muscular Endurance

Closure: That was a great job today everyone, now if sit ups had a brother, it would be name push ups, which will be our focus for next class. Check for understanding.

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Dribble Tag, give students a basketball per student and boundaries, students dribble the ball with one hand and attempt to knock out other students basketballs simultaneously

Intro: Hello class, if you recall last class we worked on sit ups and today we are going to focus on push ups, very similar to sit ups.

Lesson focus (Items to be covered during this day):  Push Ups.

Assessment(s): Up, Down, Straight Back

Intro: Hello everyone, last class we worked on push ups, today we are going to focus on a combination of push and pull ups. Both activities can be strenuous so do not hurt yourself and overdo it.

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Keep It Up, kids in groups of 3-5, each group given a volleyball or appropriate ball for age group and the group works together to keep it up, bumping and setting

Intro: Hey all, hope everyone’s day is going well so far, for today we are going to work on planks. Planks workout the core and can give you the real workout.

Fitness component (Heart rate, step counts, etc.): Muscular Endurance, Flexibility

Assessment(s): Buttocks up, leg straight

Intro: Last class we worked on planks, much like planks are burpees which is our focus for the day.

Assessment(s): Tempo, rhythm, up, down

Closure: That was a fantastic performance by everyone class. Did you guys work up a sweat? I know I did. Be prepared for next class when we work with jump ropes. Check for understanding.

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Chuck The Chicken, break class into two teams, team A takes the chicken and in a single file line passing the chicken from beginning to end, then the last person throws it as far away as possible

Intro: Hello, everyone, is everyone familiar with the House of Pain song, Jump Around? Because today we are going to be doing a lot of it.

Lesson focus (Items to be covered during this day):  Jump Ropes

Fitness component (Heart rate, step counts, etc.): Muscular Endurance

Assessment(s): Jump

Closure: That was great job today, you were all jumping so well you nearly jumped out of your shoes!

Intro: Is anyone familiar with the band OK Go? The band that made treadmills cool. If you all follow me to the workout room, we are going to be using treadmills.

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Don’t Get Caught With The Cookie, 2 students are taggers, half of the rest of the class are given balls, or cookies, taggers can only tag those with the cookie, those with the cookie may throw it to those without it to avoid being tagged,

Intro: We are going to combine all the cardio we’ve learned so far class. Can anyone tell me which cardio we’ve learned so far?

Lesson focus (Items to be covered during this day):  Cardio, step ups, treadmill, jump rope

Instant Activity (IA) / Warm-up (Name and brief description of the IA, game): Paper or Plastic, Each student is given a plastic bag and a partner, partners are at opposite sides, each partner is instructed to toss the plastic bag in the air, then the other partner must move in a certain manner and catch the bag before it drops

Intro: If you recall, last time we focused on cardio, well today we are going to work on muscular strength. Can anyone tell me what activities we’ve worked on that include muscular strength?

Closure: Good job class, I hope you all enjoyed Circuit Training as much as I did. If you continue doing workouts like this you’ll be buff in no time. Circuit Training is a great exercise for all. Check for understanding.
