Colour of Font

The colour of the font that is used is blue, the tagline is in a medium blue colour and the film title is in an almost white font with just a blue glow surrounding it. This suggests that the film will be about the supernatural or aliens because the colours represent these.

Main Image

The main image is set as the background for the poster, it shows a man being lifted out of bed, which again suggests that the film will be about the supernatural as it also looks as though he is being listed towards the light that is entering the window. The man looks stiff as he is not making an attempt to get away which suggests vulnerability and inferiority against whatever force is pulling him but also gives the effect of making him look in fear.

Colour of images

The colour of the image is again a bluish tone, we can get from the darkness in the room and from the fact that the man was in bed, that the image is set at night, and therefor this blueish colour seems to be coming from the supernatural light outside the window. This tells us more about the plot of the story line as we can gather that it might be about abductions.

Background Colour

As the main image acts as the background, the colour of it is the same as the colour of the image, it is again given the effect of this bluish tone however there are shadowed areas in sides which are not hit by the light, these are dark an therefor represent mystery in the film and are colours that are typically associated with horror films.

Description of font

The font that is used for the film title is a very eerie font, it looks slightly distorted which again could represent plots in the film, it also has sharp edges which represents danger in the film. The font used on the tagline and the subtitle are a basic easy to read typeface font, they have the effect of looking typed up and official which goes with what they are both saying as they are both ‘facts’ about the film.  

Are the images illustrations or photography

The image that is used is photography, this is because the film is a documentary style film and therefor the image will be a photo of the victim in the film.

Other Information

There is a line under the title of the film which reads ‘based on the actual case studies’ this has the same kind of affect as when films claim that they are based on true events etc, it makes the film more realistic and relatable to the reader and therefor emphasises the scare factor.

The tagline talks about the four kinds of alien encounter and then mentions the film title by saying ‘the fourth kind is abduction’ this relates to the image shown and gives away some of the plot to the audience by showing that this film will be about an alien abduction.
