PRESIDENT’S REPORT
August golf tournaments are on the 2nd, Mesa Linda, Low Net from white tees.   August 16th on Los Lagos, team play, team play two best balls in the foursome.

Club Championship will be played on September 19th  and 20th.  To be elgible members of CMSGA must have played in a minimum  of  three regular tournaments in the  last 12 months.

Four tee times are reserved for 16 players with priority by index.   The Club Champion will have a paid entry into the SCGA Tournament of Club Champions.   The club also has the option to send a Low Net Champion to the SCGA Tournament.

The General Meeting is on September 20th and will include our awesome raffle and a Mexican buffet.  Club members will pay $10 for a reservation.   Prizes include $400 in cash prizes and $1200 in merchandise.   Don’t miss this meeting it’s always a lot of fun.

Board Elections for the FYI 2013 will be held at the General Meeting.   As of this writing the current board members have agreed to sign up for another year if no one else in interested serving our club.    As of this writing it appears this is the case.

The women golfers are getting greater in numbers at CMSGA.  It’s good to see this happening.   Keep it up ladies we can form a womens flight if we can just get a few more of you to join the club.

Remember pace of play is important.  It is everyone’s responsibility to keep up with your group and the group in front of you.

We are fortunate to have two beautiful courses to play every month and a great relationship with our head pro Brad Booth.  Big thanks to Brad for everything he does to support CMSGA.

TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR’S REPORT
August 16:  I will form the teams (a, b, c, d players).  Count the two best balls net, BUT if one of those balls is NOT a net birdie then you count the best ball PLUS the worst ball net.  This keeps everyone in the game.

You know, the best part of being your Tournament Director is getting to know you by name and face.  And this event just adds to that.

September:  plan now.  We will crown our Club  Gross Champ based on the total gross score on Los Lagos Sep 19 (those competing will play a separate round then) and at our regular event on Sep 20.   And we will also find our Club Net Score winner from our event on Sep 20.  The two winners will compete in SCGA events in the desert.  The club will pay for your entry.

Sept 20 will include lunch and gererous cash and prize raffles.   It will be a shotgun with carts.

HANDICAP REPORT

DON’T TOUCH THAT BALL

As most (not all) CMSGA members know, you are not allowed to touch/move your golf ball until it has landed on the green and you mark and lift it!  Some reports have been made to the Board of Directors that members have observed other members touch/move their golf ball during play of a hole.  You are allowed to touch/move a “ball in play” ONLY under the following circumstances:

when taking a penalty (unplayable lie etc.)

when taking relief (immovable obstruction etc.)

to determine if the ball is fit for play

to identify the ball

because it is assisting or interfering with play

lift, clean & place rules are in play

If you move your ball under any other circumstances, you will be penalized one stroke!
