The Perseverance Mixtape

 1st Verse

Is elect my state? Or am I reprobate?/

What will be the outcome when death I face?/

I’m a wretched fake, who’s less than great/

Numerous acts and thoughts of sex I take/

Heart bent towards hate, you can check the tapes/

They’ll show I’m impatient, flesh won’t wait/

It wants to be fed, it don’t hesitate/

Always lying to me….like the pres debates/

Can I rep as saint? Or be to sent to bake?/

In the devil’s lake, with messed up traits?/

Like Warren G… it’s time to Regulate/

And shed my sin like some extra weight/

Let’s set this straight, I DO get His grace/

By debts been paid, guilt wept erased!/

Blessed with faith, what a special fate/

When I get to go through those precious gates!

We’re jacked up in essence, we’re Adam’s descendants/

Full of evil and sin, and lackin repentance/

I wrote this for Christians who tend to backslide/

And have pride, the enemy is telling fat lies/

Bigger lies than the size of Shaq’s tris (arms)

That’s why my lines have the cross…like frat guys/

Don’t forsake His love and escape with drugs/

On dates and clubs or get drunk and take a chug/

Embrace my hug, please don’t pop those pills/

They often kill.. let’s stop and build/

The cross is real, but we got bad tempers/

Always feelin defeated by the wack tempter/

I write for my Christian brothers who stay vexed/

They struggle with attractions for the same sex/

Keep crying out with prayer and fasting/

He’ll give compassion to changer your attractions!/

I write for the guys with high sexual drives/

I write for the guys who love chemical highs/

I write for the guys who think it’s better to die/

I write for the guys guilty of federal crime/

I write for the guys who are incarcerated/

Keep crying out to God with hearts like David/

And be consistent with much persistence/

To keep crying out, He’ll give you assistance

I write for the guy who’s in his wheelchair/

I write for the guy with no meal there/

I write for the girl who don’t rock her real hair/

I write for you and His love, He’ll share!/

We’re depraved which means our minds are wretched/

But when tempted…He provides an exit/

There’s ugly conditions, we’re stuck in addictions/

Plus the addition of loving tradition

Christ hung for Christians, He knows you are foul/

You’re alone for a while as you go through a trial/

Be tenacious, don’t throw in the towel/

He is gracious so show me a smile!/

Let’s bounce our eyes and renounce our pride/

And stay in fellowship, surrounded by guys!/

He renews my strength I’m an eagle soarin/

Because he heals my wounds like Neosporin/

He bled for pagans, who messed with Satan/

He’s giving rest to the heavy laden/

Jesus of Nazareth is the illest advocate/

We go to war, He’s our military strategist/

Killin sin, attackin it, be near to the light/

Plead and ask Him to pour out the Spirit of Christ/

So instead of choosin sin and pleasure/

You’ll see Christ as the most beautiful treasure!
