The Chronology of Minaria

 

This closing chapter of Minarian Legends presents Divine Right fans with a series of chronological tables summarizing the events of Minarian history.    G. Rahman

 

This guide to the chapters of Minarian Legends published in DRAGON Magazine adds some new items of Minaria. A great deal of extrapolation has also been to fill in gaps in the published chronology. Most of these chapters are Available on Scribd.com website.

 

Among the abbreviations used are:

E (Early), M (Middle) and L (Late).    AC (After the 1st Cataclysm). BC (Before the 1st Cataclysm)

c.-6000 - 4500 BC?: The Old Race, an indeterminate humanoid race of shape shifters, exist in Minaria.

c. –4500 – 4000 BC: For unknown reasons, the Old Race disappears from Minaria., possibly ascending into godhood as the Deities of Order and Chaos.

c. -4000 ? BC : (IM) The Temple of the Kings and its Great Library are created in northern Minaria by nascent humanoid civilizations.

c. -4250 to -4000 BC ?: Dragons, the oldest surviving civilized race in Minaria, rule isolated portions of the continent.

c. -3500 BC: Primitive humanoid civilizations, particularly humans, elves, and dwarves, rise as dragon power wanes.

c. – 3000 BC    Yuan-Ti dominate ancient  Southern Barbarians raising a temple to Wyrm-Crown at the Rune Ruins.

c. -2250 BC: (PN) The City of Khos is founded.

c. -2000: (RM) The Faces to the Sea (Lookout Point) are constructed in Rombune and in the Breaking by a now vanished pre Lloroi civilization

·         (PN) Human sacrifice to the “Tree Men” of the Ghost Wood is ritualized by the rising Kingdom of Khos.

c-1750 (PN) The Khosite fortress of Vultecrag is constructed

c.-1500: (NU) The Silver Sentinel, a magical talisman of protection, is presented to the Neutharian by Empress-Ocean.

c. -1150: The Lloroi arrive from the east, beginning a centuries long conquest of Minaria

Early Lloroi Empire: -1150 to -990 BC

c. -1135: (TZ) The Lloroi complete their conquest of western Trazig.

c. -1120:    The Lloroi Empire expands to include southern Minaria

c. -1115: (PN) Lloroi wage war on the Kingdom of Khos.

c. –1070: (Sh-Lor) Maskiki, an ally of Khos, switches sides, joining the Lloroi.

c. -1065: (PN) Lloroi overrun the lands of Khos, but cannot take the city.

c. -1060:  (PN) A Lloroi army is slain by the wraiths of Khos at the Field of the Laughing Dead.

c. -1055:  (PN) Khos falls.

c.  -1050: (PN) With the fall of Khos, Vultelina (ancient Pon) is easily conquered by the Lloroi

c. -1045: (DW) The Lloroi spread out, conquering eastern Minaria. The ancient Dwarven civilization falls to the Lloroi.

c. -1035:  The Lloroi conquer southwestern Minaria completely.

c. –1020: The Lloroi Empire grows to encompass western Minaria.

c. -1010: (NU) The Deep Dwarf steal the Silver Sentinel from Letho, crippling the Elven defenses.

c. -1005: (NU) The ancient Elven capital of Letho is captured by the Lloroi.

c. -1000: (UM) Imperial capital established at Niiawee, on the Peninsula of Umiak in western Minaria.

Traditional date attributed to the formal establishment of the Lloroi Empire

c.-996:  (South) Khuzdul founded

(South) The Spires to the Sun complex at Hyxx is constructed as the seat of the Imperial religion (Sun-Father)

c.-995:  Lloroi wars of expansion slow, and then cease, followed by centuries of consolidation. 

c. -990 BC: The Lloroi Peace begins

Middle Lloroi Empire: -990  to -250 BC

c. -885: (South) The Great Road is built from the Imperial capital, Niiawee, to the Spires to the Sun, via Khuzdul.     

·         The  Lloroi empire stagnates militarily, with no new conquests.

·         The Elves quickly assimilate into the empire, becoming a model imperial province.

c. -860: (South) The imperial Necropolis of Minjekahuan is founded.

·         Emperor Egarrh orders creation of a magical barge

c. -850 The Spice Road is built between Tripuri and Hyxx.

·         The Ogres are driven beyond the western frontier of the Empire

·         Periodic Hob-Goblin wars plague the northern frontier of the Empire.

·         The dwarven Order of the Hammers of Steel-Dain is created.

c. -800  (IM) Fortress Agada (later Castle Altarr) is built to guard the northern frontier of the Empire.

c.-650: (EW) Augeos ore is discovered in small veins in the Conodras range north of Bihestag, near the Puniceus glacier.

·        (Sh-Lor) Maskiki becomes wealthy, and great temples to Sun-Father and Steel-Dain are raised. Tributes of magic and gold are thrown into Mystic Lake.

·         Non Lloroi first enter the lower ranks of the imperial army

c-500: (PN) The fortress of Vultecrag is abandoned by the Lloroi

 c. –350:   Downfall of the Yuan-Ti civilization.

·         (NU) A great wall is built in Neuth to guard the western frontier of the Lloroi Empire from ogre incursions

·         (EW) A keep is built upon the slopes of the Puniceus glacier in the central Conodras range, where a number of magical experiments are conducted by the Lloroi wizards and sorcerors.

Late Lloroi Empire: -250 to 0 BC

·         The empire sees continuous internal disturbances, with the military draining ever greater resources to secure the territories.

·         Magical experiments by the Lloroi wizards create the Tail-Elfa as a genetically created slave race, possibly to mine Augeos ore.

·         Non Lloroi enter the middle ranks of the imperial army as the pool of Lloroi recruits dwindles.

c. –250   (MU)  Ancient Muetar becomes a drain on the imperial treasury as vast amounts of grain have to be imported to feed the urban centres in a land poor in agriculture.

·         The imperial religion of Sun-Father becomes highly ritualized and devoid of reverence. Lloroi culture stagnates, and then begins to rot.

c. -240:  (HO)  Bihestag (modern Tadafat) becomes a major seaport in the empire.

c. -225: (South)  A small fishing port at Adeese is founded.

c. –150: Lloroi imperial penal colony of human prisoners is founded on Ptanar Island.

-146:   (NU)  A Lloroi imperial army, augmented with elite units of Hob-Goblins, decimates the ogre tribes, despoiling the tribal lands.

-74 :    (UM)  Nibagisis becomes Lloroi Emperor

-70 :   King Qarmesh of  Reiken sends Hamahara the Air Dragon as a gift to Nibagisis.

-69:     (UM)   Surdamur Tankanis, latterly known as the Black Knight, born in Umiak

-58:     (UM)         Tankanis is declared an outlaw and disguises himself as a mercenary soldier, Morholt.

-57:     The Scarlet Witch King forges the Runesword.

-56:     (UM)   Morholt (Surdamur Tankanis) joins the imperial Lloroi army

(Sh-Lor)    The Scarlet Witch King erects by dark magic the Tower of Zards. It is said that the life force and arcane energy of human slaves is absorbed into the fortresses’ foundations in its construction.

-55:     (Sh-Lor)  Scarlet Witch King raises the Lloroi Empire in revolt, declaring his rebellion from the top of Shadow Peak ; Great Rebellion begins

-54:     (Sh-Lor) The Scarlet Witch King’s armies sack Maskiki.

-53:    (TR) An imperial army is smashed in the mires east of the Mountains to the Moon. The head of the slain Lloroi Marshal, Orlog, is preserved by great magic, to dispense strategic advice to his successors.

(UM)  Tenguit, son Emperor Nibagisis, born.

c. -50: Dark Holder covens become highly organized in Reiken

-42:     To combat the Scarlet Witch King, the Sword of Wizardry is forged deep in the mines of Puniceus with a combination of Lloroi magic and dwarven craft. 

-33:     (South)         Lloroi sorcerers and wizards raise the Altars of Greystaff.

-32:     (UM)   Lloroi hero, Gappa, steals the Woida-Tribes talisman of protection.

(South)         Using the new powers of Greystaff, Lloroi mages cast the mighty Spell of Putrification cast upon Woida-Tribes, utterly destroying them at the Plain of Bones.

(Sh-Lor)    Morholt wins the battle of Sqoit Pass. The Lloroi host smashes the armies of the Scarlet Witch King in six consecutive battles on the Fields of Maskiki (latterly known as the Field of the Wasted Dead). Maskiki is permanently ruined.

-31: (Sh-Lor)  Zards is besieged. Wielding the Sword of Wizardry, Morholt defeats the Scarlet Witch King in single combat. End of the Great Rebellion.

       (UM)  Tenguit returns from school and is appointed Imperial Governor of Acalin province.

-30: (South)  Morholt resigns his commission and steals the One Hundred and Nine Lenses.

-27: (South)  Morholt is caught by the Order of the Hippogriff and cursed with immortality.

-24: (UM)  Nibagisis dies and is interned at the Necropolis of Minjekahuan (Tombs of Olde). Tenguit becomes Lloroi Emperor.

-23 to  -02 BC:  Tenguit debases the Imperial government and society beyond all sanity

-01 BC: (UM) Tenguit is indicted for his crimes against the Empire in the Great Assembly.

0 BC: (UM)  Thanks to corrupt politicians and judges, the Great Assembly’s Trial of Tenguit ends his acquittal of charges of gross impropriety, illegality, irreverence, and debauchery.

The Great (First) Cataclysm destroys the Lloroi Empire.

01 AC: (RM) The peninsula of Umiak submerges, destroying Niiawee. The last Lloroi Emperor, Tenguit, perishes in the Armageddon.

                  Only the Golkus, Thores and the Isle of Fright remain above water.

(South)  Wynbiigo, High Priest of Sun-Father, is saved from drowning Niiawee by the Order of the Hippogriff and taken to the Spires of the Sun.

(MV)  The lands of the future Mivior and Hothior rise from the sea floor, creating new coastlines.

(HO) Bihestag is left in ruins as the sea recedes.

(NU)  Letho sinks into a great depression, filling with vast swamps and submerging the Great Library. The sea vanishes from the coasts of Neuth.

(MU)  Great rivers flood ancient Muetar.

(South)  A meteorite crashes to earth at Titan’s Fall, wiping out all life in the Barbarian Frontier.

(AF/YA) Tsunamis obliterate Lloroi civilization along the Shrouded Sea’s north coast.           (more)

(Sh-Lor)  The Tower of Zards survives the Cataclysm and stands shunned for many centuries.

(PN)  Vultelina (ancient Pon) is warped by mountain building.

(TR)  Trazig is largely unscathed.    

(EW)  The keep on the Puniceus glacier is devastated by an earthquake. The Tail-Elfa break free of their Lloroi slave pens and flee into the Forest of Lurking wilderness.        

02:     (South)  Wynbiigo dies, blessing the Order of the Hippogriff with perpetual prosperity   

         (HO) Bihestag is abandoned.

(EW) The Puniceus glacier begins to rapidly melt, and the runoff water fills the emerging Well of Lered. The augeos mines are lost as civilization collapses.

03: (RM)  A meteor, the Punishing Star, smashes into the Iron Hills, scourging all plant life east of modern Parros, and creating the Waste of Vahkaka. Animal life on continental Rombune and the islands is nearly extinguished.

(EW/HO) The Floodwater River is channeled by runoff water from the melting Puniceus glacier.

04: (RM) – Southern Minaria suffers from “the Brown Sky”, a sunless year resulting from vast clouds of dust kicked up into the atmosphere by the impact of the Punishing Star.  

05:      (PN)  Ancient Pon descends into deep barbarism.

(South)   Some cities of the South Plains, particularly Adeese, hold on to civilization

         (NU)  The Elves reestablish a central government under High Prince Seolan and his successors.

         (EW) The Puniceus glacier disappears, leaving behind a more moderate climate around the new Well of Lered, and a fertile till plain.

c.20: (MU)  The newly fertile lands of Muetar become fine for primitive agriculture

c.25: (PN) Dwarves reoccupy the fortress of Vultecrag, now raised high by the new Mountains of Ice.

(South)  Morholt, now known as the Immortal Lord, assumes power in Khuzdul.

(MU)  Village life thrives in Kairuna Sasir (ancient Muetar) and its people prosper in relative terms.

            (DW) The Hammers of Steel-Dain provide a beacon of stability for Dwarven colonies in the Mountains of Ice.  

M 50s: (IM)  Suffused of goddesses from other dimension, three barbarian priestesses, Sune Firemane, Provendera, and Loviatar rise in the service of the Earth Mother. They gain much power.

ML 100s: (IM)  Gods War: Alhur chooses to marry Sune Firemane over Loviatar. Loviatar demoted to a demi power.   She murders Alhur. His brother, Aljurn, slays the 3rd brother, Amnal, in a case of mistaken identity.   Provendera and Sune Firemane become  powers allied with the Minarian Earth Mother.

L 100s: (Sh-Lor)  The mighty barbarian hunter, Wild-Hunt, is corrupted by Loviatar, but is saved by and given demi powers by the Earth Mother, who names him Darnu “the Great Hunter”.

         (RM) The Sigigar barbarian clan migrates south from the Waterless Downs.

         (SH) Eizit, legendary ancestor of the Vah-ka-ka barbarians claims the tribal lands along the River Lakfoni.

c.200: (RM) Parros is founded by the Sigigar barbarians.          

           The Yuan-Ti Fragments introduce Wyrm-Crown-worship to the Rashi Barbarians

E 200s: (South)  The cities of the South Plains are governed by democratic councils that are gradually

replaced by monarchies.

(IM) The Conodras people develop a tribal lifestyle enduring many centuries.

(DW)  The Kitchi-nita Dwarves develop an advanced type of tribal life in the Mountains of Ice.

(ZN)  The Hob-Goblins drift into the Nithmere Mountains from the northland.   

E-M 200s:        (MU) The village of Oliverra is founded, with the construction of a moat and bailey keep

c.220: (South) Zefnar is founded.

248  …. the Great Council of Skarabrae is called. The Priests of Mountainsmith prophesy the fall of Reiken to the Luwamnas and foretell the mass exodus to Minaria. Most Skarabraens refuse to accept this.

249:   (MV)  Reiken refugees land on Ogreland coast. Lord Gattusil and Lady Leima are slain. 

250: (MV)  The Reiken ancestors of the Miviorians and arrive at the Isle of Boliske. Petitina is named first Archon of Mivior.

M 200s:   (SH) The Vah-ka-ka barbarians are driven from their lands by Zefnarite marines and into the deserts.

M-L 200s:       A theocratic state based on Wyrm-Crown-worship is founded in Southern Barbarian Lands

L 200s: (TR) Trollish history begins, with the Cantors describing their march from the wilderness south and east into Minaria

E 300s (South)  Trade begins between the cities of the South Plains; a strong merchant class develops.

(MU)  Barbarian activity from the east threatens the relatively prosperous, but disunited, villages of Kalruna Sasir

310: (MV)  Wilusar becomes Archon of Mivior

315: (RM) Parros fortifies its harbour islands, creating the “sunken city”.

M 300s: (RM) The meteoric iron ore from the Crater of the Punishing Star is first used in talismans to protect individuals from evil spells.

308: (NE) the Leper King establishes the City of the Morning Star in the Hunger Hills

        It is a vast beautiful metropolis of canal and decorated temples to all the gods.

L 300's:        (TR)  The Trolls arrive at Stone Face and choose Apashag king.

(MU)  The Kalruna Sasir communities quarrel and cannot unite against the rising barbarian menace.

(PN) For unknown reasons, the dwarves swiftly abandon the fortress of Vultecrag

374 AC:           (Sh-Lor)  City of the Dead: Scarlet Witches incite Rebellion in the Dark Elves. Masses of Undead arise from Maskiki and assault Trazig. Muetar and Pon assist, and their holy orders come to sever the ties, and the dweomers of the witches fail. The Lords of the Dead are reinterred with Hymns of Rest, so they can neither descend to hell nor walk the Earth either.

375: (NE) The City of the Morning Star plays host to the Cursed Dead, but their curses also erode the living.

E 400s: (NU)  Neuth enjoys an advanced civilization.

         (RM) A civic holiday in Parros is started to commemorate the Sigigar founding of the city.

EM 400s: (HO)  The Trolls dominate ancient Hothior (Soraskier).

c.450: (MV)  Mivioran folk hero, Halli, slays ogres at Allcro.

452: (MV)  Mivior founds the town of Boran; the Trolls offer resistance. Centuries of border conflict begin.  

 L 400s: (RM) The ruling Sigigar family line of Parros dies out, and is replaced with lesser noble families.  The Luwamna lords begin recruiting dragons for warfare.

c.500: (MU)  Maragon Kingdom founded in Pennol.

E 500's: (MU)  Barbarian hirelings revolt and seize eastern Kalruna Sasir.

(South)  The merchant class takes power in Zefnar. Zefnar and Parros form rival merchant fleets.  

524: (South) The Immortal Lord is driven from Khuzdul and his Stub Staff captured.

EM 500's: (NU) The Ogres force many human tribes out of northwestern Minaria.

(HO)  Humans enter Soraskier and struggle for possession of its territories.

(IM)  The ancestors of the Vidarna tribe inhabit the area south of the Well of Lered.

527: (MV)  The Miviorians found the town of Colist.

528: (MV)  Linir becomes Archon of Mivior

543: (MV)  The Miviorians make contact with Zefnar.

M 500's: (DW)  Barbarians force the Kitchi-nita Dwarves to migrate to Alzak, in the Barrier Mountains.

c.550: (ZN) Hamahara the Air Dragon begins his long hibernation

565: (NU)  Displaced by Ogres, the Sion Hac barbarians conquer Neuth.

570 (MV)  Barnas becomes Archon of Mivior

L 500's: (EW)  Singing Dream, Hierophant of the Temple of Kings, establishes the Order of the Walkers (the Eaters of Wisdom).

 (IM)  Barbarian chief Authari and Euin, claiming lineage from Darnu, lead the Vidarna tribe to Lake Carth.  

585: (MV)  Zefnarite slave raiding forces Archon Barnas to build a fleet.  

E 600s: (MV)  Mivior conquers the area north of Colist; Mivior builds its own merchant fleet.

(Sh-Lor)  Northern barbarian legends first mention the Witches’ Kitchen and they shun it ever after.  

609: (RM)  Parrosian seamen discover the islands later known as Golkus and Thores.

EM 600's:Exhausted by the carnage of the Dragon War, most of the great wryms go into hibernation

              (NU)  The Elves struggle for independence from the Sion Hac.

(TR)  The Trolls are driven to the north of Bad Axe Forest by the Soraskier and Mivior settlers

618: (South)  The Black Knight (the Immortal Lord) recovers his Stub Staff

638: (RM) Voric, an arrogant and incompetent noble, becomes King of Parros.

M 600’s: (RM)  Slave raiding and disease decimates the natives of the Golkus and Thores.

(South)  The cities of the South Plains prosper, with powerful merchant classes in Parros and Zefnar.

(DW)  The last of the Dwarves leave the Mountains of Ice and start the mines of Rosengg in the Barrier Mountains.

c.640: (DW) Adelof Oakworth becomes the first King of Rosengg.

650: (RM) Sigigar’s Day riots in Parros lead to social and mercantile reforms

661: (MV)  An earthquake destroys Boliske.

662: (MV)  The capital of Mivior is removed to Colist.

681: (MV)  Nahonnan becomes the first non noble born Archon of Mivior

L 600's (RM)  Pirates set up bases on Skull Island and Thores

689. (NU)  The Sion Hac capital of Pheridad falls; Neuth liberated.

690: (NU)  The Elves begin building a new capital, lder Bolis.

696: (HO)  Zefnar establishes Rocazha (Port Lork) as a trading post in Soraskier.

700: (NE) the City of the Morning Star reaches its zenith. It trades in slaves, knowledge, elephants and barbarian goods from the far east.

E 700's: (MV)  Rivalry develops between Mivior and Zefnar for the right to establish trade with the Soraskiers.

(PN)  Adeesi traders enter Zehr hu Pon (early Pon).

(NU)  Neuth rebuilds its civilization, but persecutes the mixed blooded (human and Elf) Hf-Elf-Ercii minority

710: (RM) The monarchy is abolished in Parros in favour of a merchant autocracy

721: (HO) The town of Fursten is founded on the Last Ford of the River Floodwater.

M 700s. (MU) New “barbarians,” the Mueta, invade Kalruna Sasir from the east.

c.750: (PN)  Silver Morn, a Walker, defies authority at the Temple of Kings, and brings literary to the Bisini tribe in Zehr hu Pon.

 766: (South)  Adeese wars with Khuzdul over mining rights; Roton Shojut organizes Minaria's first band of modern style mercenaries.

775 to 778: (MV)  Mivior and Zefnar fight the Soraskier War.

L 700's (PN)  The newly literate and semi civilized Bisini barbarian tribe wins dominance in Zehr hu Pon.

c.780-790: (BN)  Ramaharto, barbarian chief, ravages northern Immer.

c.790: (BN)  Noble Hope, a Walker, defies the scriptures of the Temple of Kings and curses Ramaharto.

799: (HO)  The Milkyaten tribe revolts and drives the Zefnarites from Rocazha. Yakami is made ruler of a Milkyaten kingdom, “Hothior”.

800: (HO)  Zefnar builds a new trading centre at Castle Lapspell.

E 800's: (IM)  Vidarna villages thrive on  the north shore of Lake Lorimer (Carth)

         (PN)  Adeesi traders discover a tin mine at Marzarbol and use the Bisini tribe as mining labour.

(RM)  The pirates of the Westward Islands become a serious menace for the next century.

(EW) A new vein of augeos ore, long thought to be completely tapped out, is discovered in the Kookustathorn mountains.

(MU)  Many small kingdoms develop in Kalruna Sasir; the Mueta grow in power in the east.

810: (EW) Joyous Hand robs the library of the Temple of Kings of numerous magical scrolls, and secretly gives them to the Gazzohlans.

811: (EW)  Joyous Hand’s theft is discovered by the Order of Contemplators and is driven to his death by demons.

815: (EW)  The Fane of the Walkers is established at the Well of Lered.

823: (HO)  Orenburt the Wise becomes king of the Milkyatens,  

M 8OO'S: The Bel-beni Empire reaches its peak in the deep south First real human empire: the Bel-Beni , fragmented under the magical devastation known as the Red Spell….

 (EW)  The Leredgard heresy spreads among the Order of the Walkers.

(HO)  Orenburt unites Soraskier into the kingdom of Hothior under his sceptre. Only Lapspell remains an Zefnarite colony enclave.

831: (MU)  The Muetar leader Oyaro seizes Basimar and founds the Oyarostar dynasty of Muetar.

840: (HO) – Orenburt founds Tadafat on the ruins of ancient Bihestag

844: (PN) The Bisinis revolt and massacre the Adeesi mining colony.

845: (MU) The ruling Urburen family builds a new keep at Oliverra.

846:    (PN)  The Black Knight leads the Adeesi army in an invasion of the Bisini territory.

(MV)  Mivior launches the first of its new model deepwater vessel, the Lamash

848:    (PN)  The Bisini surrender; a century and a half of Adeesi colonizing of Pon begins.

(MV) Mivior sends a naval expedition to Reiken under Admiral Sadyhas.  

849: (MV)  The Reiken Crusade begins. Thousands of Mivior marines volunteer for service to liberate Reiken. The Crusade lasts hundreds of years.

850: (South)  The Great Aqueduct from the Wanderer River to Adeese is built by Bisini slave labour.

852     The Free Alliance of Reiken Kingdoms formed under the leadership of Mivior.

858: (HO) The Zefnarite colony of Lapspell falls to the Hothiorans.

ML 800's:      (MU)  Muetar begins a gradual expansion to the west.

(DW) Osruc the Greedy undertakes a massive subterranean engineering project in Alzak.

(SH/SP)  The religion of Naashu Unseen-Wyrd is brought by travelers from the south to Minarian. A monastery is established south of the Sea of Zett.

c.865: (PN) Grugoni (“Heap in the Hills”) founded

873: (MV) Malatya of Aiaru, Mivior is born.

L 800's: (RM)  Trade in the Sea of Drowning Men is depressed by the pirate menace.

         (MV) Mivior explores the coastlines south of Rombune and establishes trade connections with the kingdoms of Girion.

883: (MV)  Mivior conquers the north coast and founds Addat.

The war ends. Immer successfully claims the desolate northern reaches of Maragonia, but loses the Snow Pass.

1358:  (NU) Adillh asserts Neuth’s old claim to the copper mine of Allcro and sends an Elven army to secure the territory.

         (MV) Nualt recruits ogre mercenaries. His army defeats the Elves at Citheroe. Neuth gives up further claim to the mine in a treaty.

(MU)  With dredging at Yando completed, the River Deep is made navigable to sea traffic as far as Drum.

(South) Southern merchants found the free port of Barter Town.

(SH) King Zanwee moves against Barter Town, but withdraws when Pon attacks Adeese by sea.

Lord Bur Asharendu successfully defends the Adeese harbour and is promoted to Admiral.

1359    (TZ) The Storm Rider Empire reaches its peak, encompassing all the city states of Trazig and the steppes of Madhava.

         (SH) Admiral Asharendu is ordered by Zanwee to build a lake fleet to challenge Ponese control of the Sea of Zett.

         (Sh-Lor) Stergman gives up his leadership position in the Vanduzee Slayers to Trouble. Stergman becomes Headman of Vanduzee.

1360:  (SH) Shucassam floats first warships on the Zett

         (South) With the acquiescence of Bey Hamarah, the Lepers found a new monastery on hills overlooking the Sea of Zett

1361:  (SH) Bur Asharendu is appointed Bey of Zefnar.

         (MV) Sir Mortnoir’s ship wrecks on the coast of Mivior.

         (Sh-Lor) Prince Vogel inherits the throne of castle Bast.

1362: (MU) Nonnus and Sesa journey to Muetar to spread the word of Shamrock.

         (South) The Ghouls (Kutrubs) first offer services as a mercenary unit.

         (Sh-Lor) Prince Vogel of Castle Bast is tricked by the Arch-Genie and magically imprisoned.

         (South)  The Wyrms of the Blasted Heath are discovered by travelers.

1363: (SH) Shucassam and Pon begin a series of inconclusive naval skirmishes on the Sea of Zett.

         (Sh-Lor) Tera, a wheelwright from Basimar, frees Prince Vogel with the help of Breis the Unicorn. Vogel and Opetera are wed.

1364:  (PN) A Ponese invasion of eastern Shucassam, led by Sir Mortnoir, ends in utter failure.

M-L 1300s: (Sh-Lor) Barbarians bring word of the finding of ancient dwarven way markers. Rumours fly about the discovery of the fabled lost dwarf colony of Bes.

1365:   (TZ) The province of Zsofia rises in rebellion to the Storm Rider Empire. The revolt is ruthlessly crushed and the province utterly destroyed. Zsofia is known thereafter as “Little Madhava” . 

1366:  (TZ) The province of Lakini rises in revolt to the Storm Rider Empire. The rebellion is smashed by Hatu Khagan’s son, Hastim. 

1367:     (SH)  Marodi’s ex mercenaries, led by Trouble the warrior maid, fight their way back to Stone Man Pass  .

(PN) Pon and Shucassam sign an armistace, leading to an uneasy truce over the Sea of Zett.

(TZ) Hatu Khagan’s scouts report the existence of Minaria to the west.

1368: (SH) A Yanna revolt in Jipols expels the Shucassami Bey, threatening Shucassamite power in  the south.

                  A barbarian army led by Al-Debar Deserthawk smashes the Shucasami forces attempting to put down the Jipols Revolt. 

(RM) Rombune declares its support of Jipol's independence and of Barter Town's.

(SH)  Rombune’s army occupies Jipols.

    With Pon also threatening to intervene, Shucassam backs down. The “Jipols Revolt” ends with the city officially labeled as independent.

          Barbarian Princess Daya of Afgaar goes into exile to avoid marrying a gimp.

(DW)  Moonrune is defeated by Kelgan barbarian raiders at the Battle of Quentovic Mountain.

1369:   (RM) Redgrave I declares a Rombunese protectorate over the “independent” city of Jipols. Jipols becomes part of Rombune.

         Mashuga the Gimp assumes the name “Achor the Pious” after the 13th century khan. Mashuga places Daya’s step-brother, a three year old child, on the throne and acts as regent or “Sultan”.

 (DW) The king of Ghem is the first to receive ambassadors from a Trazig barbarian tyrant called Hatu Khagan, demanding tribute; other such parties, called “the Storm Riders”, pay calls on most of the Minarian monarchs, threatening war and enslavement if demands are not met.

(ZN) Immerite traders establish a trading post, Menschpaut, in the Snow Pass

 (MU) Count Urburen of Oliverra dies childless. Emperor Herrott appoints Sedrick Sabiar as lord of the village.

1370:  (South)  Daya travels to the Spires of the Sun and meets Sir Winspear, Knight of the Order of the Hippogriff.

         (MU) A revolt breaks out in rebellious Maragon.

         Trouble reappears at the head of a peasant revolt in Maragon province. The revolt is crushed by royal troops at the Battle of Quill Lake.

         (South)  Nonnus returns to Freetown. Sesa does not return.

1371:   (SH) Daya goes to Adeese with Sir Winspear to appeal for aid, but is ultimately rebuffed by King Zanwee.

         (PN) Daya journeys to Pon, but Luppi refuses to take up her cause.

 (RM) The Black Death reappears in Parros and the Golkus.

1372:  (MV) The plaque spreads to Colist and Boran. Boliske is spared by a strict quarantine.

         (BN) The plague flares up briefly in Freeport, but Nonnus performs miraculous bouts of healing, causing the plaque to dissipate rapidly.

(MU) Daya goes to Pennol, but Herrott is unmoved by her plight.

(HO) Daya goes to Port Lork, but is rebuffed by Boarhort, who is too busy making sure the plaque doesn’t reach Hothior again.

         (SH)    A treasure caravan from Zefnar to Khuzdul is destroyed by sand storms and Vah-ka-ka barbarian attacks.

                  General Kihachi recruits Al-Debar to hunt down the Vah-ka-ka raiders. Al-Debar’s barbarians drive the Vah-ka-ka to the north.

         (DW) Word is carried by the eastern  Dwarves  that great columns of horsemen, the Storm Riders, are moving through the lands east of the Barrier Mountains.

Early 1373:  (SH) Early in the new year, the Khuzdol army of General Kihachii and Al_Debar’s army encircle the Vah-ka-ka in the Thorn Flats. The Vah-kak-ka are crushed between the two forces.

At a victory party hosted by General Kihachi, Al-Debar kidnaps the general’s daughter, Cho.

         (BN) Nonnus meets his uncle’s killer in the aftermath of the Battle of the Thorn Flats and is merciful.

(EW) Daya appeals to the mages of Lered, but is ignored.

         (IM)  Daya goes to Castle Altarr, but is rebuffed by its elderly monarch, Euint

         (BN)  Daya goes to the Temple of Kings, accompanied by Winspear and Schardenzar

1373 Current  (May 5)   The Hymns of Rest Fail at the City of the Morning Star, newly rechristened Civitas Muertas
