This Math MOOC aligns with several of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM). With a focus on the High School Conceptual Categories of Algebra and Functions, this Math MOOC examines key topics such as:

- writing expressions in equivalent forms to solve problems

- solving linear equations, systems of linear equations, linear inequalities, and quadratic equations
- performing arithmetic with polynomial and rational expressions
- modeling linear and quadratic functions

Each module within the Math MOOC imbeds at least two specific High School standards. These modules are also aligned to mathematics portions the ACT, SAT, and other college gateway examinations. This Math MOOC also serves as a tool to examine some of the topics included in college placement examinations for mathematics.
