2.  Attend all practices, matches, tournaments and team events.  A player must have Head Coaches approval to miss any team activity prior to the event!
3. Before entering the gym, you must be completely dressed from head to toe
4. School dress code is required during all team activities
5. No jewelry is to be worn during practice or matches
6. Players are responsible for all equipment
7. Volleyball shoes are to worn in the gym area only.  Running shoes are for the track!

This is the order for ALL questions/concerns of the player.  We want to encourage our players to be responsible and handle their own issues as young adults.

Match Attendance Behavior/Transportation:

1.  Players must ride the bus to ALL away matches
2. AWAY GAMES:  You are allowed to ride home with your parent/guardian but they MUST sign you out!
3. HOME GAMES:  You are EXPECTED to stay for all matches unless you have prior approval from your coach to leave early.
4. The team is REQUIRED to sit together in the bleachers at all times.  No parent’s, boyfriends or friends will be with the team at ANY TIME!
5. The team will wear only Langham Creek Athletic clothes at matches.  When you are in the bleachers, the team will dress the same.

Player Expectations:

Volleyball Objectives & Expectations

Program Objectives:

• Promote high level of competition without the compromise of sportsmanship
• Insure student-athletes have a positive academic and athletic experience that provides further development of athletic skills, personal, mental and social growth
• Project a positive image of the high school, school district, and community by following all school, district, and UIL rules and regulations.

Academics:

1. Academics are the #1 priority!

2. The program will follow UIL and district guidelines regarding academics

3. Grade checks will be due to individual team coach each Friday

4. The coaching staff will maintain open lines of communication with the teachers and parents regarding student-athletes’ academic progress

5. Wednesday’s after school tutorials will be a designated time for athletes struggling in the classroom on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis

6. Student-Athletes will maintain open lines of communication with teachers and coaches regarding missed assignments from excused absences.

Participation:

1. Never miss practice.

2. In case of emergency, parent must contact a volleyball coaching to inform them of situation.

3. Missing practices will cause decrease in playing time or potential playing time.

4. Repetitive absences can result in dismissal from team.

5. If you are injured, you must be in attendance for practices and games unless otherwise excused by your coach.

6. Be on time to practice. Tardiness will result in an individual physical assignment.

Most Important Rule to Remember: DO NOTHING DETRIMENTAL!

Off-Season:

1. Consists of regularly scheduled volleyball skills, agilities, weight training, and running

2. Major Grades - 50% (Mid-semester & end of year testing)

3. Daily Grades – 50% (Participation & Dressing out)

In Season:

1. On game days, all athletes are required to arrive at individual coach’s specified time.

2. Before away games, all athletes must remain in locker room unless notifying their coach.

3. Coaches will escort team to bus always.

4. All athletes are required to ride to games together.

5. If an away game falls on a weeknight, athletes may sign out on the sign out sheet with the designated team coach.

6. Athletes can only leave with their own parent(s).

7. A pick-up area will be designated for home & away games. Athletes will remain in this area until their transportation arrives.

8. Athletes will not leave with parent between tournament games.

9. Specific team assignments will be given for all home games including gym set up, take down, etc.

*Emergencies will be considered.

10. Playing time is a privilege and not a guarantee!

Safety:

1. A buddy system will be used at all games.

2. At least 2 people will be together at all times- restroom, locker room, concession stand.

3. You must notify a coach of your destinations and intent.

4. After practices, athletes must wait in designated area until transportation arrives.

5. Proper equipment must be used during all games and practices.

6. Proper warming up techniques must be used before all games and practices.

Disciplinary Procedures:

Volleyball & more importantly school policies are to be followed at all times. Social contracts will be dispersed to the individual depending on the violation. If the policies are not adhered to, included with the program consequences, the procedures are as followed:

1st offense – Coach/Athlete conference

2nd offense – Coach contacts parent

3rd offense – Athlete dismissed from program.

*All circumstances will be handled at the coach’s discretion.

Lettering Policy:

1. The volleyball program will follow district lettering policy

2. If no policy exists, lettering will be at head coach’s discretion.

Locker Room & Equipment:

1. Place all belongings in locker and LOCK IT! ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!

2. Athletes will be assigned a locker & combination. Memorize it & do not share!

3. No one other than students and coaches are allowed in locker room!

4. Keep locker room nice & neat. All trash should be thrown away promptly.

5. Equipment will be issued. Athletes are responsible for equipment at all times!

6. If unable to produce equipment at end of season, athlete will be charged the price of the equipment.

7. Treat the equipment as your own property!
