Day 1:

Warm-up: Easy Level Quick Song.

Intro: Inform students history of iDance and its benefits.

Lesson focus: Initial Assessment, FITT plan

Fitness component: FITT, Step-Count, Cardiovascular

Assessment(s): Assessment Sheet to be used in future testing (Day 8), FITT plan

Closure: Review FITT

Day 2:

Warm-up: Easy Level, Quick Song. Intro: Review FITT, Ask students what % they reached last class.

Lesson focus: Increasing percentages completed

Fitness component: Step-Count, Heart Rates

Assessment(s): Self-Assessments, Verbal

Closure: Review Step-Counts, Ask if students increased % complete.

Day 3:

Instant Activity: Easy Level, Quick Song.

Intro: Inform students that we will be having a fitness based day.

Lesson focus: Fitness Fitness component: Heart Rate, Step-Count

Assessment(s): Step count records for day, heart rate statistics between songs.

Closure: Review why fitness is important for lifestyle.

Day 4:

Instant Activity: Medium Level Song w/ one partner - hands only.

Intro: Review fitness aspects of iDance.

Lesson focus: Fitness, Steps

Fitness component Heart rate, step counts)

Assessment(s): Statistics of heart rate and steps

Closure: Review how iDance can be used to increase fitness levels.

Day 5:

Instant Activity: Easy Level song with partner-

reversed.

Intro: Talk to students about practice & different types of practice. Lesson focus: Practice for increase of % completed.

Fitness component Heart Rate, Cardiovascular

Assessment(s): Students will record % completed for each song and work to increase.

Closure: Review how practice can help increase success.

Day 6:

Instant Activity: Easy Level song with partner -

reversed.

Intro: Inform students that the will continue practicing iDance to increase difficulty level and %

Lesson focus: Practice to increase Level and %

Fitness component: Heart rate, Step-count.

Assessment(s): Visual Assessments, Verbal Assessments.

Closure: Review if students saw result due to practice. Lead to next lesson.

Day 7:

Instant Activity: Medium Level Song w/ high step

level - hands only.

Intro: Inform students that they will be creating their own routines.

Lesson focus: Creating routines for high step count. Fitness component: Cardiovascular, Cooperation.

Assessment: Visual Assessments.

Closure: Review lesson, lead to next lesson.

Day 8:

Instant Activity: Medium Level Song w/ partner-

feet only. Intro: Inform students today is testing day, for increase in initial %. Grade is not based on % completed but how much you’ve improved.

Lesson focus: Testing for % increase based on initial assessments (Day 1). Fitness component: Heart rate, Step-counts.

Assessment(s): Assessment Sheet, Initial Assessments (Day 1).

Closure: Lead to next lesson of rotations.

Day 9:

Instant Activity: Low Step, Hard Level Song - hands only. Intro: Inform students they will be working on three person rotations.

Lesson focus: 3 Person rotations.

Fitness component: Cardio, Coordination, Balance.

Assessment(s): Visual Assessments.

Closure: Review different techniques, lead to next class.

Day 10:

Instant Activity: Medium Level Song, High Step

Level. Intro: Review last lesson, tell students they are continuing in rotations.

Lesson focus: Four person dance-pad rotation.

Fitness component: Heart rate, balance, coordination.

Assessment(s): Visual Assessments.

Closure: Review techniques and ideas, lead to next class.

Day 11:

Instant Activity: High Step, Medium Song w/

with 4 person rotation. Intro: Inform students that we will be increasing rotation numbers.

Lesson focus: 6 person dance-pad rotation.

Fitness component: Cardio, Coordination, Communication.

Assessment(s): Visual Assessments

Closure: Review techniques and ideas, lead to next class of full class rotations.

Day 12:

Instant Activity: Medium Level Song w/ 5 person

rotation. Intro: Inform students that we will be working on a full class dance-pad rotation. Review previous rotation techniques.

Lesson focus: Full Class Dance-Pad Rotation

Fitness component: Cardiovascular, Coordination, Communication. Assessment(s): Visual Assessments

Closure: End iDance unit, review principles, check if students have questions.
