Fall 2012 Volunteer Stream Monitoring

Bug ID Day
We had a great time sampling the Red Cedar Watershed in mid-October and now it's time for us to count up the "critters". Come support Mid-MEAC's efforts to protect our watershed by helping to identify the bugs we collected. Volunteers will learn how to identify critters collected from local streams and how stream health can be determined by the species found there.

Thanks to our very generous hosts at Tetra-Tech, we will hold our Bug ID Day on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10am - 1pm. We're using one of the large lab spaces at Tetra-Tech, located at 1921 E. Miller Road, Lansing, MI 48911) near the intersection of Aurelius and E. Miller Road.

No prior experience is necessary! We'll provide light refreshments and training on proper procedures. To RSVP, please call the office at (517) 292-3078 or email our Stream Monitoring Coordinator at midmeac@gmail.com.

Kids are welcome to attend but they need to bring an adult companion.
