COSMO CLARKE

Cosmo comes to us with and extensive background in the fitness field. Cosmo has an extensive background of training athletes of all ages and in all sports. He has trained athletes at the amateur and professional level. Cosmo spent some time working at Lifetime Fitness in Allen, Texas before accepting the position at the Sportsplex.

Cosmo enjoyed playing 5 years of professional hockey, from 1995 to 2000, and also spent some time as an assistant coach at the professional level. Cosmo coached 7 years with the Alliance Youth Hockey Association. He has a Level 5 coaching certificate and is also a certified physical fitness instructor. Cosmo has spent over 20 years developing, instructing and directing hockey schools across North America and Europe.  

 

In addition to leading hockey teams overseas to compete and win in European Tournaments, Cosmo led the Alliance Midget Major AA team to the Texoma Championship for 2003-2004, as well as the Tier II State Championship in 2003-2004. In 2004-2005, he led his Midget Major AA Team to the Tier II State Championship, and to the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Finals in Phoenix, Arizona.

Cosmo coached 4 years at Plano West Varsity High School Hockey Team (04-08), and led the team to numerous advanced playoffs, in addition to winning the 2005 Texas State Championship. Cosmo was also the strength and conditioning coach at St. Mark’s School of Texas (00-05) where he coached JV Lacrosse and led the JV Hockey Team to a City Championship in 2002.

 

Cosmo is a native of Ottawa, Ontario and has been living in Dallas since 1997.  He has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Brock University, Ontario and has been a strength and conditioning coach for 20 years.
