Setting up NVivo 9 user profiles in a standalone project

When you first start NVivo, you are prompted to set up your “user profile”. When you work in a project, this user profile is used to create your “project user profile”. Each team member must access the project using his or her user profile (this should be automatically applied thanks to your software registration), as this enables the team leader to monitor the work you have done when importing your work into his or her master file once a week.

It is best to stick with your original user profile:

• Please note that if you change your user profile, the next time you work in your project copy, a new project user profile will be created. Work you do from this point onwards will be associated with the new project user profile.

• Please avoid accidentally creating two separate profiles in your project. Although you can merge the two user profiles (by removing one of the project user profiles and assigning all associated project content to the other user), this could be time better spent!
