Things my students are saying about Goodreads.

At the end of another assignment I asked my students to comment on Goodreads.  Not all of them had time to do so and not all of the comments below are positive. This is their unvarnished opinions.

1. It's ok. I find it helpful for finding new books that strike my interest.
2. Well goodreads was boring to me at first. I mean I didn't read books at all and I realized no need to have a goodreads. That's when Mrs. Roberts let me borrow a book of hers and it got me all into it couldn't stop reading. Then I started thinking about goodreads I use it to look up the author. Thanks to goodreads I got to know more books that are the same.
3. I like it. It's a great way to share your thoughts on books and suggest them to other people.
4. I like it, its a good way to show Mrs.Roberts what I am and have read so far as well as keep track of others.
5. My opinion on good reads is it keeps the teens mind active and allows you to upload what you are reading and what you feel about it   Its facebook for books and its a way to get teens to read more.
6. I like it, You can read reviews on books you want to read. I also like the fact that you can recommend books to people.
7. Goodreads is more of a site for people who do nothing but read. Not for those who read on a rare occasion.

9. I think good read is cool. Before she told us about good reads I really didn't read that much but now I use it because it like a face book for books. So I think it is something that should be passed on to other people.

13. I really haven't look around in good reads to much but from what I can tell It is a great place to learn about books before you read them and have the chance to tell other people what you think about the book your reading so all in all its great for anyone who loves to read

15. Good reads it's an excellent place to look for a book or if you want to know how good is a book and the rate that other people have given to it. I like good reads because I can actually tell people how good was that book and express my thinking about it. I do high recommended to people and students.
16. I think it is a good way to talk and rate books online with friends. It is a good way to see other peoples opinion about a book, before you even read it.

18.  Goodreads is a good site to see what people think about all of the books they have read. And to have discussions with other users who may have read that same book.  You can also get an even higher opinion on what could be your next book to read. Personally I enjoy using the site.

22. I think that Good reads is a great way to keep up on your reading, and it helps you to decide the type of books you enjoy reading. However, it's kind of hard to keep up on all the books your currently reading. I really enjoy searching through good reads, to see what other type of books people like so I can recommend them certain books.
23. I really don't use goodreads.but I think Im going to start using it since I'm reading an interesting book right know and I'm really happy with it.
24. I don't think Goodreads is really necessary. It basically displays your thoughts on books, online and helps you keep track of your read/want to read book collection. I don't really care for it.

28. Goodreads is a helpful website. If you enjoy to read then you should have an account. You can keep track of all you read and share your thoughts about it to the world and rate books. Also, in my case it can help raise your English grade. :)

31. Well I don't really use it.
32. It is a good place to go to for people that love reading a lot. I like it because I can review books I've read and say my opinions about it and what I liked about it.
33. I think it's a good site to use. It helps keep track of what we've read so far in a book. It also keeps track of all the books we've already read.
34. Its pretty good because we get feedback and recommendations about books and we also get to give other people feedback or recommendations about the books that we have read.

36. Goodreads is a good idea and is similar to a facebook for books. I like going through all my books that I have previously read and rating them. It also is useful because it gives suggestions for other book to read in the future.

40. I think that goodreads is important because you can search old and new books that you have either read of want to read. Goodreads is also interesting because you can see what other people think of the book. You can see what other people rate the book and what their opinion is.

43. I think Goodreads is a great website if you are interested in books and if you like to write about books. It is perfect to find a good book in your interests and you can find friends.
44. Goodreads.com is a service I have never thought about using before. It links readers to other readers through the books they read. This service allows frequent readers as well as infrequent readers find books they like, and increase their reading level while enjoying talking about the book and giving updates to friends about why they like or don't like the book(s) they are reading.
45. I think it is a good tool for us. So we can challenge ourselves to take a book and read it. By grading the progress that we do by reading, it can arouse people to read more in oder to get more points.

I think it's a good resource for readers to write about what they read, want to read, etc. Also a good way to track books you have read, for if one day you might want to read it again you can go and look it up on Good Reads instead of trying to remember a title with a vague storyline in your head.
