 God is with Us (Part 1)

To help the children appreciate the many friends they have made during this year in preschool.

 The children will complete activity p. 115.

  1.  Gather the children in in a circle.
  2. Show the children four unit pages .
  3. Have the children tell stories about what is happening in the pictures.
  4. Sow pictures of seasonal trees.
  5. Review some ways we can tell what season of the year it is.
  6. Affirm how much they have learned about seasons.
  7. Review  several Read to Me Pages.
  8. Have the children try to recall what the lesson was all about.
  9. Distribute activity p. 115.
  10. Have the children tell stories about what each of the children are doing.
  11. Have each child tell what they like best about preschool.
  12. Lead the children into a special prayer

The children will learn to appreciate how much God loves each of us.

 The children will complete activity p. 116.

  1.  Have the children sing "Yes Jesus Loves Me."
  2. Distribute activity page 116.
  3. Call the attention of the pictures on that page.
  4. Invite the to tell stories about what each child is doing in the pictures.
  5. Invite them to tell if they and their families will be doing similar things during the summer.
  6. Explain to the children that no matter where they are or what fun we have during the summer, god will be always love us and be with us.
  7. Have the children look at the pictures again.
  8. Ask, will you remember to say thank you to God while you are playing out side this summer?
  9. Help the children trace an X at the times they will remember that God is with them.
  10. Have a puppet drop a button on Activity Page 116 and see where it lands.
  11. Have the child act out being in that place.

 The children will place their names an on an activity they liked best.

  1.  Read the book Caps, Hats, and Mittens.
  2. Make a floor graph using masking tape.
  3. Put one Unit page at the top of each column.
  4. Have the children select which season activity they liked best.
  5. Have the child place his or her name on the column.
  6. Have the children compare columns.
  7. Discuss the results
  1. What do we need to build a graph?
  2. Which column has the most names and which has the fewest?
  3. How did the graph helps do?

 The children will respond to Read to Me Page 117.

  1.  Gather the children in a circle and show them the globe.
  2. Ask: What have we learn about God this year? How would you show that God is always with you?
  3. Tell the children that where ever we may go in the world (spin the globe)   we should remember what we learn about God this year.
  4. Distribute Read to Me Page. 117.
  5. Explain we are going to celebrate together that God is always with us.
  6. Explain that they will take part in in the activity.
  7. Have the children practice saying their part.
  8. Lead the children in the celebration.
  1. What have we learn about God this year?
  2. How would you show other people God is always with you?
  3. What special thing will you teach others about God?

The children will create a son to thank God for being with them.

 The children will help create a song.

  1.  Discuss with the children how wonderful  for being with them all the time.
  2. Have the children express and when they have felt Gods presence.
  3. Explain to the children that we are going to create a song of gratitude to God for being there for them all the time.
  4. Have the children give suggestions on what words we should use.
  5. Make up a sentence for that word.
  6.  Put the sentences together to make up a song.
  7. Sing the song with the children.
  1. What words would you like use to use in our song?
  2. How would you use that word?
  3. Why did you choose this word?
