Finnish Garlic Potatoes

This reminds me of our cold winters in Finland.  This is a real comfort food dish and not for the faint-hearted. Don’t be put off by the cream and salt content, they taste fabulous.  Garlic potatoes go well with meat and fish dishes.

Method

Heat oven to 180oC

Butter a ceramic oven-proof dish.

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.

Start with one layer of potatoes, sprinkle with crushed garlic and salt.

Repeat until you have used all your potatoes.

Pour cream over the top.

Bake for 40 min.  Watch out that this dish does not dry out, it is meant to be creamy.
