found the show on “know your meme” in feb
always liked cartoons
watched the cartoon yonks ago (thanks parents)
carebears...and my little pony (dont really remember it, but they didn’t let us watch bad movies until we were bigger)
downloaded ep1 - cliffhanger, I hate cliffhangers!
when the ep first started, I facehoofed - my little pony, aah aah aah aahhhhh...
AND THEN KICKASS ROCK SONG AND RAINBOW DASH
seriously, I almost skipped it from the first few seconds, but then OH MY GOD
downloaded ep2 - oh god, pinkie singing, I lost it.

- really hard to say! easiest to say least fav ep, and that was call of the cutie
- even though weakest, still had kickass bits in it - the training scene!
- I liked over a barrel because come on, bloomberg. dash getting outsmarted, the song that started a WAR!
- AND PONIES IN LINGERIE!
- I liked dressed for success - the song!
- I liked winter wrapup - maybe thats the best.
- best song overall judged purely on the fact I keep singing it. dammit.
- sonic rainboom! makes me do a little jig whenever RBD does the sonic rainboom
- cutie mark chronicles had good and bad, one of the weaker ones actually, but so much win in places. could have done with being a two-parter!
- so many good parts. trollestia, troll phoenix, zecora was excellent (I wrote wintergreen about her, she even rhymed). oh god, flutterguy :D
- “owls well” - evil spike!
- best one was diamond dogs, so much rarity <3
fav pony:
- Rarity for best pony! (rock some rarity - ho ho ho)
- Actually I like luna too, but she’s not (yet) mane cast
- she’s an alicorn, but unlike trollestia she’s sweet and defenseless and you just want to hug her to pieces until she squeaks.
- nightmare moon was totally badass
Why is this show so freaking addicting/good?
well it’s got:
- great stories
- great voice acting
- adult in-jokes
- songs that I keep singing
- morals that aren’t tacked on (and subversions! how great is the subversion of the moral for show stoppers?)
- it’s almost flawless.
- the plot!

Fair warning, this email is going to be a bit all over the place. First: The Podcast is great, but I do have one problem. Chef Sandy is significantly more quiet then the rest of you, so it makes it a little more difficult to hear or understand a conversation between you and him. Second: Have you read the horribly depressing Fan-Fic Bittersweet? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Hey guys, just wanted to say that I love the podcast and will continue to watch it as long as it runs. Anyway, I have a question for you guys that has been raging around the fandom: Is Rainbow Dash a lesbian? There are plenty of good debates for either side, but I'm seeing a lot of the arguments dissolve into mindless yelling at one another. I would like a nice, logical debate about this. Thanks, Matt |

Hey! I heard the shoutout you gave me on the latest bronyville. I gotta admit I stopped in my tracks for a sec when I heard my name. And for that, I'm going to plug you on my show too. Speaking of which I do have a contest coming up. If I time it right I should have already announced it on my show by the time you read this email for your show. What the contest is I'm looking for a Title card for the beginning of my show, and an intro song that has to have some MLP music mixed into it. The prize for winning the contest in either category is the MLP 5 piece gift set. I wanted every brony out there to get a chance to enter into this contest so that's why I emailed you about it so you could let your listeners know as well as everywhere else I'm going to try and get it announced. Also I'm adding a special contest for anypony that really wants to go way out there. If anypony makes a movie that's 30 seconds or more that can be used as a show intro video, not only will they get a 5 piece gift set but they will get 2 brushable ponies of the mane cast of their choice and a backpack to carry it all in. Awesome episode AC, it was cool to hear about the side of the Brony gaming community. Even though it became oatmeal several times lol, but now because of you guys I need to get minecraft and getting my laptop up to spec. I was wondering if you were thinking of doing a convention episode in the future? Cuz I think I'm going to start doing reports on Bronies at the conventions I go to and I'm thinking of asking Seth if he can put them up on EQD. Also if you wouldn't mind plugging the meetup I'm hosting at A-KON in two weeks I would greatly appreciate it. I also got a few more people interested in the podcast a few days ago, hopefully soon they will be full time listeners of the podcast. ~Jonathan |
Greetings fair Brony show guys and AC's girlfriend. I was just wondering what one would call a female brony? Is she still a brony? I don't know. Personally I feel like she shouldn't be, but I don't want to go off on what could be perceived as a stuck-up feminist rant. >.>;; I mean, I was kind of uncomfortable identifying myself as a girl due to how much I enjoy "nerdy" things until friendship is magic taught me that, like RD I can still be a "tom-boy" while wearing a fancy dress, and like Rarity I can care about appearances without being weak. And now it's kind of like as soon as I'm getting comfortable being, as rarity would say, a lady I feel like I'm being shoved back into this "bro" label. Don't get me wrong, I love FiM and the brony community very much, and it feels pretty good to finally have an appropriate female role-model (even if she is a cartoon pony). But at the same time it's hard to get tossed back into that "just one of the guys" box right after gaining enough self-confidence to climb out of it. I dunno, maybe I'm over thinking it, buy it'd be nice to know your thoughts on this from a male's point of view. Sorry if that sounded sort of rantish, and best wishes, ~Mare Rayne. |

Hi, first off I'd like to say that I love the show and I check for updates daily. I think that you guys are doing an amazing job, so amazing that I'd like to do some art for you guys. I'm not an amazing artist compared to the high standards of the internet but I'm not bad. Anyways the reason I'm writing this is because I was hoping to get a better description of your OC's so I would have something more to work with, I went over the first episode where you guys gave a basic description and got as much as I could but a bit more would be nice. Or I was thinking that you guys could use one of the Pony Character Makers and just send me screencaps of those. Thanks for your time reading my email and keep up the good work with your show.

Despite your guests some days ;) your show makes for great iPod content while jogging in the Texas sunshine--I'm a Brony far from my snowy Minnesota home, currently stationed a few hours south of Chef Sandy's ranch. After your T-shirt talk in eps 4 and 5, I wanted to share a photo of a bit of MLP apparel that I sported when we Uncle Sam employees had a chance to wear civvies to work last week. - honestly, too many great authors to count, but I don’t only look for authors. I do know what I like, but never judge a fanfic by the fanart (having said that, if somepony goes far enough as to create custom fanart for it, it meant a lot to that pony, so that’s a pretty ringing endorsement)

- derpy as silly derpy is fun, but it can be taken too far
- bubbles, dinky doesnt go to school, forever and always - some real tear-jerkers built with this
- Topic Time!
- Fanfics - writing, reading
- either you create your own world
- or you borrow one - like mlp
- with your own world, you get to make the rules
- with a borrowed one, you have to adhere to what you are given
- characters must be the same as the show (within reason), even when you’re doing x-overs
- x-overs are hard - both worlds must be known to the reader, or you have to explain the one that isn’t
- pony writers often try to do “visual gags” or write like it’s an episode without explaining the scene - try closing your eyes and explaining what you see, like radio announcers
- how do I start? well I start with the pure idea - spike needs his shots, for example
- then I take it a bit further - he’s got to hate the idea, maybe twilight has to trick him
- then of course comes the tone - in calling the shots it was silliness, so of course he’s a pet
- which means the vet, the kitty carrier, the idle over-the-top-of-his-head-like-hes-not-there chatter...
- and then you flesh out the details
- I have a muse, or I like to refer to “that feeling” as a muse. some ideas pop more or less fully-formed into my head and wont go away.
- nightfall at sweet apple acres was one of them. Im not huge fan of sad or grimdark, but when my muse strikes, she strikes without mercy.
- I do have the writefriend training grounds, and I (AND OTHERS! THANK YOU!) try to help budding authors take it to the next level

Dear Princess Celestia,
Today we had a fanfic writer on the show who talked with us about many things. We discussed Rainbow Dash’s sexuality (or lack thereof), military bronies sporting Fluttershy shirts, and providing our adoring and awesome fans the references they desire to ship us to the moon and back. Afterwards we talked about how to better ourselves through reading and how not to write a painfully bland Nightmare Moon fic. And as always, our fans are awesome and much brony love. *BROHOOF*
