 "Jacob and Esau" (Gn. 21)

The children will learn how two brothers fought for a birth right and brought hate to their family.

 The children will answer questions about the story of "Jacob and Esau" and will create a ladder for Jesse Tree.

  1.  The teacher will display a picture of a hunter and shepherd.
  2. Discuss what they do for a living.
  3. The teacher will read the bible story "Jacob and Esau."
  4. Have the children answer how were Jacob and Esau different.
  5. Distribute popsicle sticks, and glue.
  6. Have the children make ladder to add to Jesse Tree.

The children will lean how God always take care of those who loves  Him and follow him.

 The children will answer questions about the story, and will color Joseph's coat.

  1.  The teacher will discuss how families are a gift of God to love one another.
  2. The teacher will read the story "Joseph and His Brothers"
  3. The teacher will discuss the story.
  4. Have the children answer why did Joseph's brothers hated him.
  5. Distribute construction paper.
  6. Have the children color Joseph's colorful coat to add to the Jesse  Tree.

The children will learn how God took care of baby Moses in the river.

 The children will answer questions about the story, and will act out the story of "Baby Moses."

  1.  The teacher will discuss how families are a gift of God keep us safe.
  2. The teacher will read the story of "Mose.'
  3. The teacher will discuss the story and vocabulary words: miracles Hebrews, Passover
  4. Have the children recall details such as, who found Moses in the river.
  5. Have the children act out the story of "Baby Moses."
  6. Distribute activity page 9.
  7. Have the children add numbers to the Ten Commandments and add to the Jesse Tree.
