A Thousand Colors for the children of Emilia
To all of you who would like to respond to the project here are the guidelines.
Size of quilt: 48 x 60 inches (4 more or less) we wish to deliver quilts of the same size for practical reasons.
Fabric: 100% cotton , please no flannels, woolens, fleece
Batting: medium or low loft polyester, no cotton or fleece, thank you. We do not have dryers and cotton takes long to dry in Emilia’s climate.
A label in the back of the quilt is appreciated with name, location, year and, if you wish, a sentiment.
The project is aimed to children ages 3 to 5-6 so colorful quilts are appreciated, you can use very simple shapes, such as squares, rectangles, stripes, but you can put to work your creativity and also use novelty fabrics that are in your stash. Please mail only completed quilts either simply machine quilted or tied with perle'cotton floss.
The children of Emilia do not need blankets to warm them up, the italian relief corp Protezione Civile provided blankets for all the folks, what they need is a colorful quilt that they can hold, play with and call their own, a Linus blanket !
My husband Vincent and I will personally deliver the quilts to the children on location.
The deadline: quilts will have to get to me by october 30th, be aware that it can take from 7 to 23-30 days for packages to get to Italy from the U.S.A. and other far away countries.
Value for custom declaration: Gift - value $ 25
