8th Grade - COUGAR BAND KARATE BELTS: (A Year of Accomplishments)

Earning belts will be a partial fulfillment of the assignments for each nine weeks.  In order to receive an A in band during each nine weeks, you MUST achieve at least a grade of  90 for each belt listed in the chart provided below. You may go ahead of the plan and complete future nine weeks’ belts, if you so desire. Please note: If you do this, your grade will be accepted, but it will not be recorded in Progress Book until the nine weeks in which it is assigned.

WHITE – Concert Bb Major Scale & Arpeggio                    

YELLOW – Concert Eb Major Scale & Arpeggio

ORANGE – Concert C Major Scale & Arpeggio

BLUE – 8th Grade: Record the Concert F Major Scale (All-County Scale Pattern)

PURPLE – 8th Grade: Record Concert C Major Scale (All-County Scale Pattern)

BLACK – 6th Grade: Record Concert G Major Scale (All-County Scale Pattern)

BROWN – 8th Grade: Record Concert Chromatic Scale (All-County Scale Pattern)

PURPLE – Concert G Major Scale & Arpeggio

BROWN – Concert F Major Scale & Arpeggio (2 Octaves)

BLACK – Chromatic Scale All District  (You must Audition for All County or All District Band)
