Habitat Curriculum Page

Our World is made of different habitats.  In 2nd Grade, the students will be learning about the different habitats they would see around the world.  Over the next several weeks, the students will learn about different plants, animals, and location of each habitat.  Within this unit, the students will learn about where each animal gets food, water and shelter.  

Objectives:

1. Students will identify what a habitat is.

2. Students will identify the location of the habitat.

3. Students will identify different plants and animals within each habitat.

4. Students will explain where animals get their resources.

5. Students will make a shadow box which will include all aspects of one of the aspects they learned about.

Nebraska’s Science State Standards:

LA 4.4.1  Students will develop an understanding of the characteristics of living things.

LA 4.4.2  Students will develop an understanding of the life cycles of living things.

LA 4.4.3  Students will develop an understanding of living things and environments.
