Elections and Referendum {

On Sunday you should have received your ballot for the referendum question and executive election discussed in previous messages from us.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.  Voting goes from Monday the 12th to Friday the 16th.

GSA executive nominee profiles can be found here.

As your representatives to the GSA, we supported the crafting of this referendum question. It’s up to you whether you want to vote in favour or against it. The money goes towards funding  graduate activities, student-organised symposiums, PDRs*, bus passes, the Grad Lounge, travel grants, child care bursaries, and emergency funding.

Some have expressed concern that membership in the GSA and fees for its services are mandatory. If this is a concern more of you share, please contact us!

/* PDRs: Petitions, Delegations, and representations, which are usually requests to fund activities relevant to a large portion of grads and you’re eligible to apply for. */

Security and Fobs {

Graduate students that need access to Reynolds and Thornbrough after hours should see Ms. Deb Byart about obtaining a fob. In future semesters, keyed entry will cease to work for the building. Fob access is currently restricted to the east stairwell.

File servers and Macs in 114 {

A new file server has been created for accounts accessed through the Mac Lab. This should improve overall performance but means that files aren’t shared between Mac-accessible accounts and your other account available through the department.
