John does educational outreach (lives in Roch)

Wants more ways to get Sugar in more schools in America as well as internationally

Works Gerald Aldito in NY - 5th grade classrooms equipped with Sugar

        Teacher knowledge exchanges

            Wiki area? Forum? Chat?

GOAL: Low Low Loooow barrier to entry / less technical

Forums: Grade-Age related (separate forums for grade levels)

Problem 1: Teachers will not have the time to shift through the material to find the gems

If you have a dialectic platform you can have someone direclty speaking to how they use sugar to teach math and allow there to be a clear conversation between two people

Connect us to Gerald --> Content aware, content expert

John -> Gerald -> Gateway to more teachers to test the product

Skype call some new teachers, show them some mock-ups of the forums to get some feedback

Test teachers with knowledge of Sugar and those without. -> Test the forums

"Feasibility Testing" for us to make minor tweaks

Problem 2: Do we set up an area on the forums specific to America's 'Race to the Top' initiative?

If we are going to encourage XBorder communication --> Can we embed GoogleTranslate into the Forum?

Further addressing: Race to the Top

            Sections specific to regional curricula

Closing the gaps: education level, national and language boundaries

SUGAR from a learning perspective - K-5 area primarily

Areas available to teachers - Learning key concepts (Reading, Mathematics, etc)

Give them a forum to publish their ideas on using the tools; videos, other media options

Development direction - (Drupal?) still open.

Work will be 'down the line'? We're prioritizing the bike splash site for now

What does the sponsorship get you?

Sugar is being a sponsor, getting paid out of the deal by not contributing (sort of a Pro-Bono sponsor) but still get the advertising.

Keep those ideas for the brain storming session - THINK OF TEACHER INCENTIVES - Very receptive to the idea of a Sugar biking jacket.

Teachers input? JT's suggestion: preload the conversation with the teachers with some templates and then get some direct feedback on the templates as well as some honest ideas from them. (maybe teachers will be polled? for convenience)

Martin From Seso will be giving more of an idea on what their vision of communication and Uruguay is spinning up to be.

Stephan 'Dogy' is the key master for the google analytics of the old site

Closing questions?

Mike proposal -> consistent universal online personality for Sugar users

Meta-rewards for signing onto the forums or participating in online activities

Similarities drawn to potential Campbells soup and box top initiatives -> fundraisers

                Kids motivated by small rewards

First 3 months - needs front end and forums and then look to the micro-goals such as this

Seso might hire on CoOps for this goal in the summer

Fundraising just has to happen regardless of this goal because there has been no funding going on previous to this initiative

Discussion of how Sugar needs to happen sooner rather than later, so Sugar needs to get more money coming in to put forth into other initiatives

VNC get Sugar to work via a web browser

Sign ups for sponsors on the site, donations, etc
