Youth Workers:
- To engage in “life” with the teenagers who are a part of Synthesis Student Ministries.
- Serve under the leadership of Doug and Lori Booth in the planning and executing of weekly gatherings and special events.
- Serving as sponsors to teen events.
- Caring for a few of the teens through:
- Notes of encouragement
- Text Messages
- Phone calls
- Attending special events like athletic games, band concerts, school plays, etc.
- Meeting for coffee or dessert, etc…
- It is important that you are growing in your walk with Christ and have reached a level of spiritual maturity that allows you to put others above yourselves.
- Teens can really only see things in black and white.
- They are not to a point where grey exists yet. If you are at a place where you feel it necessary to post pics to the internet of your crazy weekend with friends, you may not be ready to work with our teens.
- At times we must be willing to put aside some things that could cause our teens to stumble in their walk. (Romans 14)
We need folks who will walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Teens have unique “bull crap” detectors. They are looking for authentic leaders, not fence riding actors.
