Vanilla Buttermilk Syrup

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 5 minutes Yield: approximately 1 cup

6 tablespoons butter

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon vanilla

¼ teaspoon baking soda

Combine butter, sugar, buttermilk and vanilla in a small sauce pan over medium-low heat.

Simmer on low for 2-3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.

Store leftovers in refrigerator for about one to two weeks.
