Hi SoCS!
It’s been an exciting semester! We had an excellent turn out this week in the Atrium at the career fair and we’ve got even more exciting things coming up just for you.
SoCS events
- SoCS Grads Wine & Cheese -- Mon Feb 13 -- 6pm to 8pm -- UC 442 -- Come on out and join fellow SoCS grads, faculty and staff for our very first wine & cheese!
Graduate affairs
- Senate Elections -- Vote! Elections proceed from Feb 6 to Feb 10.
- Call for Nominations -- GSA Executive Committee -- Deadline -- Wed Feb 8
The Nomination form was sent to all graduate students on Thursday, January 19.

Scholarships
- HQP Graduate Scholarship Applications -- Dr. Steve Leeson, Animal & Poultry Sci.
Applications for HQP Scholarships for students starting their graduate programs specifically in Summer semester 2012 will be accepted between February 13 – 24, 2012.
Professional development course offerings
- Course: Preparing to Teach Internationally -- Starting in Spring 2012
Introducing a new course to be offered to teachers and students. The course dubbed Preparing to Teach Internationally will take place on five weekend-days. A certificate from the Faculty of Education is presented at program end.
- Guelph IP Academy Learning Series
Attend a learning series of workshops on Intellectual Property and get free lunch. The free sessions involve case studies and discussion with experts, they are 1.5 hours in length, followed by a networking lunch. A maximum of 30 attendees. Pre-registration required. You don’t need to register for all.
