All lab related assignments must be completed in order to participate in the planning and the lab activity. A lab related assignment may include altering a recipe, a completed project or activity, posting on a discussion board, watching a video, etc. In other words, make sure your assigned work is completed at the correct time or you will be unable to participate in lab.
Late Work: Assignments and projects that are turned in late will receive a 1-point deduction for each day that it is late. Assignments turned in after the due date but before the end of an instructional unit will receive a minimum of 75% credit (the teacher has the discretion to award more than 75% credit). Assignments turned in two weeks before the grading period will receive the lowest passing grade as determined by the school wide grading scale (the teacher has the discretion to award more credit). All assignments turned in after that time will be awarded a zero.
Extra Credit: The Bay Port High School Family and Consumer Science Department has determined that extra credit can be used at the discretion of the teacher in limited quantities.
Cheating Policy: Bay Port High School staff believes that students need to be educated on the issue of academic integrity. It is our job to prepare students for their education after high school. Academic dishonesty will be included in the 90% academic grade. The following procedures will be followed for academic dishonesty: Offense one is recorded in student log and receives an F. Student retakes assessment; grade is average of the F and the retake letter grade. Offense two, student receives an F and appears before Academic Integrity Board to determine the consequences.
