Each student will be responsible for communicating with their partner (s) via email, in person, phone, or any other communication method outside of class. You will choose a presentation topic from the ones listed below, research the pertinent details, and design 1 multi-media Google Docs Presentation.

The first thing you want to do is if your the 1st person listed in your create is to create a New Presentation in Google Docs, give it the following title:

Computers1LastNameLastNameLastName (enter the last name for each group member including yourself). Then share that presentation with all groups member (you will have to find out their gmail addresses )PLUS dporfido@wood-ridgeschools.org and msudol@wood-ridgeschools.org.

Here is the list of Presentation Topics. Remember to choose one that interests the entire group, since you will be presenting them.

  1. You are a travel agent promoting a special vacation package to a Caribbean Island of your choice. Remember to include specific details such as flight information, hotels, airport transfers, activities, meals, costs, etc.
  2. The Wood-Ridge School District has just approved a new Ski/Snowboarding Club and a Golf Team for the 2011/2012 school year contingent on getting enough member participation and conducting fund raisers to offset some costs involved. You will create a presentation that will attract student body members to join either the club or the team (only choose 1). Include specific details about the club’s goals, trips, fundraising ideas, and more. If you choose the golf team, present where the team will play, what league they will participate in, who the coach is, why golf is a competitive sport, etc.
  3. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, design a presentation as if you are a dating expert and you are promoting ‘The Perfect Valentine’s Day Date’. Here is your opportunity to be creative!
  4. You are getting ready to look at colleges! Prepare a presentation for on any college/university as if you are the rep trying to get people to come to your school! Students may only use the school’s official website to obtain information. Include: School’s Name, Address, Telephone Number, Undergraduate Admissions Requirements, Degrees offered, History of the College, Tuition Costs, Housing, Student Organizations, and any other pertinent information. No plagiarism. Be creative, and pay careful attention to grammar/mechanics.
  5. You are a high school guidance counselor. As part of your job responsibilities, you have been asked to put together a presentation on potential career paths (ex - doctor, lawyer, teaching, engineering, etc) for your students.  Select 1 career path to discuss and be sure to include the following: education requirements, professional licenses required, description of the career itself, types of jobs available in that career, salary ranges, typical job responsibilities, names of people in that profession and their feedback/advice on succeeding in the profession, and any other pertinent information.
  6. You are a travel agent and have been asked to organize a 30 day cross-country driving trip across the United States. The starting point is Wood-Ridge, NJ.  Create the agenda for the trip and remember to include specific details such as states visited, roads traveled, places visited, hotels stayed at, and any other pertinent information.
  7. You are a recreation league coach of a sport of your choice.  You coach young children who are playing the sport for the very first time.  They do not know anything about the game or the rules.  Create a presentation that explains how the sport is played and the rules of the game.  Be sure to mention how many people can be on the field/court at the same time, the scoring system, ways to be successful in the sport, and any other useful information.
