Breakfast Brown Rice

(one serving)

½ cup cooked brown rice

1 tablespoon slivered almonds (or more,to taste)

1 tablespoon dried fruit (or more, to taste)

¼ cup milk, or milk substitute

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

dash of vanilla

sprinkle of cinnamon

Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until heated through.

Any slivered or chopped nuts may be substituted for almonds.

Dried cranberries, blueberries, and raisins are especially good in this recipe. I like to plump the dried fruit in hot water before using in this recipe.
