Polish Style Pork Stew
yield: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
800g/1.7lb boneless pork, cut into ½-inch cubes
1 stick butter or margarine (113g/4oz)
1 large onion - sliced
about 5 cups water
1 vegetable or beef flavor bouillon
salt and black pepper
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons sour cream
Directions:
In a large skillet melt the butter or margarine, add the sliced onion and cook until the onion is soft. Add the cubed meat, cover the skillet and cook for a while (until the meat is not pink outside anymore). Then add the bouillon, salt, black pepper and 1 cup of water, reduce the heat, cover the skillet and cook for about 1 hour and 30 minutes stirring from time to time and adding more water (water is going to evaporate so you need to add more from time to time - during the cooking you are gonna use about 5 cups of water).
After the meat is cooked - in a small cup mix well the flour and sour cream, add a few tablespoons of hot sauce from meat and mix well, then add this mixture to the meat, mix well, cook for a few minutes and remove from the heat.
Serve over the pasta or potatoes.
Enjoy!:)
