All iMedPub Journals have the possibility of publishing thematic issues. These special issues can be leaded by board editors or guest (external) editors.

Steps:

1. Editors-in-chief can invite board members or external editors to lead a special thematic issue. They must approve special issues in their journals before a call for papers is launched.
2. Manuscripts submitted are subjected to normal peer-review. Usually, editors in charge of the issue will also be in charge of handling the peer-review process of the articles submitted to that issue.
3. Authors, other than board or guest editors, are subjected to normal article processing charges, whereas charges are waived for editors contributing to that issue (up to 2 articles).
