Koobolt and Skärm have left Forster Fortress to investigate traces of Byrr activities up at The Rift. They ended up in battle with the bandit leader Ringled and his men. Ringled died.
At the fort, Stieg is charged with guarding Koobolts daughters, Spring (want out and hunt) and Sanna (wants a new family).
We last saw Frost when he went to bed in his caravan with one of the men in the holding, the mechanic Ego.
Other things that happened is that Skärm has mindfucked Varj, one of Atlas Copco's mistresses, into having sex with him a second time, just before he went out with Koobolt.

Koobolt, hmm, what the heck happened...? We had killed a whole bunch of people, and I robbed Ringled’s corpse and took his gun and a hunting rifle for Sanna. Then I found a lot of maps and stuff that I gave to Skärm. We have probably set up camp some distance away and I have told Skärm that we can not have a fire because there are more of Ringled’s soldiers out there. I have been a few laps while Skärm cooked, and had spotted. I have shot a bird with a hunting rifle and now sits before the fire, Skärm still lit and pull feathers from the bird. | |
